We’ve made it to spring, but how many of you are already looking forward to summer? If you said yes my friend, me too! In my hunt for summer indoor and outdoor decor, I am sharing 7 of the best outdoor decor items for summer that I recently found.
The believe the last couple of years have made us all reconsider the importance of our outdoor spaces. Spending so much time inside sure made me want to up my game to my outside space!

This summer, woods, rattan and jutes are going to be super popular. My goal is to incorporate these, or at least a few, inside and outside at my home.
Although I love color, I’m all on board with having some neutral elements in my home.

Outdoor Summer Decor
As soon as the weather gets warm enough, I spend as much time as possible outside on the patio. I think it’s important to have an outdoor space that feels like all the comforts of an indoor space. You can see my outdoor space I created last year in my post Easy Breezy Summer Home Tour.
I’m changing things up a bit this year and have recently found some amazing inspiration for decorating my outdoor space.
Are you ready? Drumroll please…
This Studio McGee braided outdoor rug with fringe neutral/ivory is so beautiful and the price is definitely affordable! It would work with any other color you choose to use, which I love.
The fringe gives it a little sass, which I love! What do you think?
Next up for your outdoor space is this beautiful tapered variegated rattan decorative basket. It’s perfect to hold all your outdoor goodies.
Baskets are so trendy right now and fall into that design trend of wood, rattan and jute. You can use them inside and out. When I was at the Michigan Antique Festival last weekend in Davisburg I saw so many baskets.
Literally, baskets everywhere!
I absolutely fell in love with one but felt it was a bit too pricey.

Outdoor Furniture
If you have a small space outdoors and you have been looking for something that is inexpensive and looks pretty, I have the most ideal piece for you!
There is a small space off to the side of our patio table and chair set and I’ve been wanting a loveseat for that area. I recently ordered this Cozyhom Patio Loveseat and it is the perfect size.
I am going to put my gas firepit right in front of it and call it a day!

Big Al has a list this season too. On the top of it…a beverage cooler. He’s been wanting one for a long time and this is the year! This Fullwatt 80 QT Patio Rolling Cooler is just right. Big enough to fit plenty of beverages and small enough that it won’t take up too much space.
I’d say we were each lucky enough to get the items on our list!
Outdoor Pillows
As much as I love having throw pillows inside, I love them that much outside, too!
I’ve found some pretty options that will fit just about anyone’s decor. However, you know I had to throw one super colorful pillow in….just for good measure.
This multi stripe tufted oblong pillow is one of my favorites, this season! It has all the colors, looks cheerful and how about the fun fringe? What until you see how inexpensive it is!
I’m sure I will find a festive place for it out on my patio.
Look how pretty this modern jute pillow is! I love the pattern and it’s the perfect material for outdoors.
My last pillow choice is this Threshold Ayleen stripe.

Outdoor Lighting
Our outdoor space currently has a pergola. It’s the kind with a canopy over the top and two sides. Our patio area gets intense sun in the afternoon, and with little shade, it is definitely a necessity. I’m considering putting drop cloth curtains on the other sides, but still haven’t made up my mind.
What do you think? Do I add curtains or not?
Anyway, loving the inside feel outdoors, lighting is a cost effective way to do this. I added lights a few years back and need to replace them this year. The bulbs I have now are round but these outdoor string lights are the perfect size and price for a change.
If you don’t have a pergola to string lights, there are other options. We helped my son and DIL string lights without any sort of awning. We spray pained galvanized poles black, put them in their flower beds and strung the lights from the poles to hooks we secured to the brick of their house. It looked fabulous and was so easy to do!

They don’t give off a lot of light but a tabletop fire pit does add a little ambience to your set-up.
Do you have a tabletop fire pit?
I do not, but would love to have this deluxe smores roaster! It’s like a tiny fire pit for your table! Small enough for a little heat and light, yet perfect to roast smores.
You gotta love a good smore!

Yay for getting ready for summer! I’m right there with you, friend! Love all of your choices.
Thank you, Leslie!
I love all of your ideas. I am finally getting a new deck built where I can put my portable hot tub and some of my plants. I am in the market for an indoor/outdoor rug to go with it. That neutral one with the fringe might be just the thing.
That will be so nice when you get it finished! I know how much you love your hot tub!
