The crisp mornings are turning to balmy afternoons, birds are singing a sweeter song, and the world is bursting with color. Spring has sprung! Today I’m sharing ways to spring into joy, easy decor ideas to brighten your home!

Last year, I showed you How to Create a She Shed in a Room. I spend a lot of time in my she room. I blog there, read there, and sometimes even watch a little TV when sports is monopolizing the main living area. Don’t get me wrong, I like sports, but sometimes this girl needs to watch some Hallmark…or Dateline! Yes, I am a true crime junky!
I wanted to give my room a few spring touches so I chose some simple, cheerful spring decor additions to the room. You can use the tips I am about to give you in any room in your home.

Add Flowers – Real or Faux
Speaking of cheerful spring decor, flowers are tops on my list. I love adding flowers to any room in my home. Sometimes I add real and sometimes I add faux. In my opinion, I don’t think either choice is right or wrong. Adding either can make a big difference in your space. I recently wrote a post Bringing the Outdoors In: Fresh & Faux Greenery & Florals that may help you decide. I added both to this space.
A few helpful tips
Next, I introduced the soft beauty of these beautiful faux peonies, I purchased last year. You don’t always have to use a vase, basket or urn for your flowers. I laid these around my lamp and added the sweetest little bunny.
Nothing says spring like flowers and a bunny!
Oh, and how about that pretty butterfly lamp? It was the perfect addition to my She Room.

Cozy Throws and Pillows
I don’t care if it’s winter, spring, summer or fall, I always have to have a few throws close by. I am a firm believer that a pretty throw and cozy pillow are a necessity for relaxing.
Please tell me I’m not the only one!
As spring arrives, swap your cozy winter throws for lighter options. These light weight throws are perfect for adding a layer of warmth on chilly spring evenings or mornings, but are breathable enough to avoid overheating.
Changing out your throw pillows or the pillow covers is an inexpensive way to change the look of your space, especially for each season. This simple swap can instantly refresh a living room, bedroom, or even an outdoor seating area without the commitment or cost of replacing larger furniture pieces.
Light and Airy Window Treatments
One of the simplest yet most impactful ways to usher in the brightness of spring is by refreshing your window treatments. Swap out your heavy, light-blocking curtains for lighter, more translucent fabrics like linen, cotton, or sheer panels. These materials allow soft, natural light to filter into your rooms, instantly making the space feel more open, airy, and cheerful!
Weaving Memories into Your Decor: Knick-Knacks, Tchotchkes and Pretties
My mother always used the term tchotchkes when decorating. Honestly, I thought it was “her term”.
You know, one of those words we coin and make our own?
Anyway, I didn’t realize it was an actual word until I was in my early twenties. If you don’t know what it means, it’s an inexpensive showy trinket in Yiddish. It is pronounced CHOTCH-ke.
You have to admit it’s fun to say!
Whether you call them knick-knacks, decor items, or something else entirely, these special touches add a certain charm to a space.
For my spring additions in my she room, I used the prettiest floral tea cup. Our office is right outside my she room and we have a coffee/tea/water station in there. So, I always have a cup in my room. Now if I am being honest, I don’t always have a fancy tea cup, however, my cheerful spring mood just seemed to require one.

I sure you hope you enjoyed my cheerful spring decor. We all have the ability to shop our home and find some items that will work to make a cheerful space. They don’t have to be fancy, just some pieces that make your space feel cheerful and make you smile.
