Welcome! I’m Kim, and for the last six years, I’ve been sharing a glimpse into my life here at Cottage in the Mitten. As a lifelong Michigander my days are full of warm cups of tea, beautiful home decor, and a sprinkle of DIY magic.

But it’s not all décor and dishes! I’m also a Mimi to three precious granddaughters, a wife to the wonderful “Big Al,” and a passionate advocate for a cause close to my heart. Cottage in the Mitten was launched on my passion for brain tumor awareness. Making blankets isn’t just a project, it’s personal. When my son was just 16 years old, he was diagnosed with a benign meningioma. Learn how I support brain tumor research through my handmade cottage blankets.
