Gather Your Supplies (What You’ll Need)

I’m all about easy and budget-friendly projects. The best things about this autumn wreath tutorial is its simplicity and afforability. Who doesn’t love an easy and simple project?! You only need a few basic supplies to create this beautiful and festive wreath. It’s a perfect fall craft for beginners or anyone looking for a quick and easy DIY project. If you have littles they will love helping you with this project, too!

You can use real Indian corn, if you choose. Especially, if you have access to it. However, if you don’t, it can be costly and you need quite a few ears to complete this project.

Attaching the Faux Corn Cobs (Adding Texture and Color)

The base is pre-made and doesn’t require any additional preparation, just remove the plastic wrapping. Once you do that, it’s time to add the faux Indian corn. With your first cob, start in the center of the wreath, attaching it with your hot glue gun.

Once you decide on the color pattern, begin alternating the colors to create a vibrant and visually appealing design. Continue attaching the cobs until the entire wreath is filled, ensuring that they are securely fastened to the base. This process will add texture, color, and a rustic charm to your DIY wreath.

Just a little tip: Hold each cob firmly against the base for a minute or so. This allows the glue to adhere firmly and will keep your Indian corn from sliding out of place.

Glue Gun Safety

  • Keep the glue gun on a stable surface. This will help prevent accidents and spills.
  • Never leave a plugged-in glue gun unattended. Unplug it when you’re not using it to reduce the risk of fire.
  • Keep the glue gun away from flammable materials. Hot glue can ignite flammable substances.
  • Be careful not to let it touch your skin. Hot glue can cause severe burns.

Indoor vs. Outdoor Variations (Adapting Your Wreath for Different Displays)

This wreath is versitle and can be used indoors or outdoors. Hanging it on your front door is a wonderful fall welcome for your guests. You could also display it above a fireplace, place it on a free standing mantle, or hang it above a buffet in your dining room. Whatever option you chose, it will be sure to give your home a beautiful touch of autumn charm!

I orginally created a bow with some ribbon I had in my supply closet. However, I felt the wreath looked pretty without it. If you want to add one, it’s your wreath! Add away!
