Five Must Haves For The Easiest Holiday Organization

Christmas is over and now we have to start thinking about breaking down and putting all our beautiful Christmas decorations away. I love to be organized, so today I’m sharing five must haves for the easiest holiday organization.

Benefits of Being Organized

Did you know there are benefits of being organized? There have been many studies done and based on that research, below are some of the benefits of being organized.

  • Helps you sleep better
  • Helps to reduce your stress
  • Helps promote a healthier diet
  • Helps improve your relationships
  • Helps to increase productivity

“Being organized isn’t about getting rid of everything you own or trying to become a different person. It’s about living the way you want to live – but better…” – Andrew Mellen

I can use the benefits of all those things and nothing feels better to me than being organized! Especially, when it comes to putting away all my holiday decor. I store all my Christmas decor in the closet under the basement stairs. The last thing I want is to open that door, next holiday season, and have everything fall out on me!

Raise your hand if you need the easiest tips for holiday organization. Good, me too! I want to show you my five must haves for the easiest holiday organization.

There have been many items over the past few years that I realize I need after Christmas.

Things to make my life more organized. So last Christmas, I made a list…checked it twice, and vowed to be proactive and purchase those items before this Christmas season was upon me. So I did!

Proactive! Remember that word.

Also, If you want to see all my holiday goodies, that I need to store, you can see my holiday home tour here.

Five Must Haves For Organization

One – Wrapping Paper

How many of you have leftover wrapping paper, or paper you bought on clearance after Christmas last year, or even the year before that?

I know you can’t see me but I am definitely raising my hand!

Why do I always have so much paper? For years I “stored” all that paper in the corner of my Christmas closet and not in an organized fashion, I might add. I purchased some perfect wrapping paper holders and they have been a game changer.

I bought two sets. one set for all my Christmas paper and one set for all my other paper, such as, birthday, and different showers.

There are a lot of different types to chose from and they are so much better than putting the paper in the corner of the Christmas closet!

Two – Wreath & Tree Storage

Where do you put your wreaths when the holiday is over? I used to shove mine in a black garbage bag and hang them in the storage closet. My method didn’t help to keep their shape, that’s for sure! I have wanted a wreath holder, for every season, and now I have some. I recently bought three wreath storage containers and let me tell you, they work great. Although I do like the single wreath options, I love the double wreath containers for Christmas.

Goodbye black garbage bags!

If you have an artificial tree and don’t have the original box for storage, I’ve got the solution for you!

Check out these amazing rolling duffle bags for your tree. They fit up to a 9ft. Christmas tree.

Amazing right?

You’re welcome!

Three – Clear Storage Containers

Speaking of garbage bags, I never have enough containers for my Christmas pillows and throws. It seems that some of those beautiful pillows and throws ended up in a black garbage bags too, just like my wreaths. Every year, I say I will buy more and when the season is over, I haven’t purchased ANY! Please, tell me I am not alone.

I am happy to say that the purchase has been made and the clear storage containers with red lids are also checked off my list!

This year, all the pretty holiday blankets and pillows will be safe in their new home!

Four – Christmas Lights

How about those Christmas lights?

If you have a pre-lit tree, no worries. However, if you are like me and ADD more lights, then you need this next tip!

How many of you just take them off the tree and throw them in a container? I try to take them off nicely, wind them neatly, putting them in a container for next year. I’ve always wanted those cord wind up helpers. I finally found some and placed my order.

Lights organized – check!

Five – All Those Ornaments

Up until the last few years, I had always had two 10 ft. trees. Needless to say, I have acquired so many ornaments over the years. I am methodical when it comes to putting them away. Many of my ornaments have their own boxes but many I have do not. Ordering ornament containers was a priority on my list.

Now all my ornaments have a home and are safely packed away!

Five Must Haves For The Easiest Holiday Organization

I am happy to say all my items have been ordered and my list is complete!

With all my new purchases, I am happy to say that I WILL be organized this year!

I’ve linked all the goodness for you, below!

I hope my five must haves for the easiest holiday organization has been helpful.

Happy organizing!!

Hadn’t considered a wreath holder, great idea! I wrap my lights around an old wrapping paper tube and that does the trick.
