Can you believe it’s football season already?! The turning leaves, the roar of the crowd, and the thrill of cheering on your favorite team – Sundays in the Mitten just don’t get much better, especially when you spend them with family and friends! But before you get swept up in the excitement of game day, take a few moments to grab your favorite beverage and dive into this week’s Mitten Moments. I’ve got some heartwarming stories, inspiring ideas, and a touch of fall magic to kick off your week in the best way possible!

My Personal Moments

  • The most exciting thing that happened this week? My oldest granddaughter started preschool. She has the sweetest spirit and it’s hard to believe she has grown-up so fast! Friends, I feel so blessed to be her and her sister’s Mimi! It’s one of the biggest blessings of my life.
  • The Perfect Couple came out on Netflix this week. Have you heard of it? It’s based on the novel The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand and is a captivating tale of secrets, lies, and betrayal set against the picturesque backdrop of Nantucket. I love the author and I’m currently her book Swan Song. Anyway, the six episode series is so far so good!

My Favorite Weekly Find

I believe I’ve shared these beautiful rechargable wall sconces before, but I feel the need to share them again because they are literally that good! We added them to either side of the bed, in the bedroom we just remodeled for our granddaughters. These sconces were a life saver last week, when we lost power. No need for candles, we just removed the rechargable battery insert and set them on the table in our living room and carried one around with us from room to room, when necessary.

If you are looking for sconces these are the ones. Whether you are reading or need a little extra light somewhere in your home, these sconces are perfect for your bedroom, hallway or stairwell. They work on remote control, come in multiple finishes, have a dimmer, and multiple colored lights, which always makes it fun for our granddaughters!

Last week, I shared Simple Steps to Drying Sage at Home – a simple but effective way to preserve the fresh scent of this versatile herb. Whether you’re using it for cooking, or simply enjoying its aroma, dried sage is a must-have in any kitchen. If you haven’t already, check out the post for a step-by-step guide on how to dry your own sage at home.

Have you have worked with decoupage? I’m a big fan and shared my project From Simple to Stunning: Decoupage Your Pumpkin with Napkins. It’s a fun and affordable way to add a touch of autumn flair to your home decor.

A Few of My Favorite Moments

Recently, Janine from Happy, Happy Nester shared Tom Cruise’s Coconut Bundt Cake Recipe. Apparently, each year, the movie star sends this cake at Christmas to his friends. Sounds like a yummy gift to me! Now that you have the recipe, you can make your own!

Do you have a cut flower garden? Maybe you just like to dry pretty flowers of the season. If so, my good buddy Jennifer from Cottage on Bunker Hill has the perfect keepsake for those flowers. Her post From Garden to Art: Craft Your Own Pressed Flower Clay Decor gives you all the steps to create your own personalized pressed flower decor!

My friend Elizabeth shares some really yummy recipes. This week was no exception! Her Easy Cinnamon Walnut Applesauce Bread looks delish. The perfect pairing for the cooler temps we are beginning to have!
