Mitten Moments

Happy Sunday, friends! Another week has come and gone and it’s time for another Mitten Moments. Those moments from the week that I’ve shared and those that I have loved. Sharing is caring and that’s exactly what I’m going to do with you today!

My Personal Moments

  • I have the prettiest blue bike with the cutest basket, that Big Al bought for me a few years ago. We love to bike ride, but sadly, haven’t been riding much at all this summer. Our town recently put in a new bike path near our house, so we headed out to give it a try. One hour and seven miles later, we made it back home. I know I will be sore tomorrow! Do you bike ride?
  • Well, it’s started. Preseason football. Can you believe it? I love football season, however, I just don’t know if I’m ready for it. I’m still enjoying summer so much!
  • Do you clean your garbage disposal? If not, I found these amazing tablets to clean mine and they work great! You can see them HERE.

It was a fun week on the blog! My granddaughters and I made some easy-to-bake flower sugar cookies. Anytime spent with them is fun and time well spent! I also rounded up a list of good things left to do in August. If you missed them, you can check both posts out below.

This Week’s Top Picks

My favorite finds this week come from Walmart! They’ve upped their game in the clothing department and all items I’ve shared are reasonably priced. I’m definitely a fan of their new arrivals for fall. You can see what I’m currently loving HERE!

A Few of My Favorite Moments

If you have a garden, you know now is the time of year where you have an abundant amount of zucchini. Lora Bloomquist Create and Ponder shared her Italian Zucchini Quiche. The perfect recipe for the yummiest late summer meal!

I love dishes. Not just sets of dishes, but individual pieces that I pick up at thrift stores, or that have been handed down. Displaying them in my home decor is also something I enjoy doing. This week, Heidi from Eleanor Rose Home shared How to Decorate with Plates for a Cozy Collected Look.

Cozy cottage kitchen with beige cabinets, beadboard walls, and a white shelf displaying decorative plates. Clear jars of flour and oats sit on the countertop beneath hanging white aprons, with natural light streaming through a glass patio door.

Just like the zucchini we have a plethora of tomatoes in the garden. Crissy from My Tex Mex has an easy and delicious recipe for Easy Ranchero Sauce. So pick those tomatoes and start making this sauce!

  1. Hello Kim,

I hope that you were not too sore from your bike ride. I love biking, we went off road a few weeks ago and I hit a rut and flopped over. I ended up with a gash on my knee and a sore shoulder. THANK GOD no broken bones.
It sounds like you are having a wonderful summer with your grands.
I will admit the heat has gotten to me and I am looking forward to Fall.
HAve a wonderful and blessed week.

  2. I love reading your Mitten Moments, Kim! I think I have a bike that needs to be taken for a spin, too. I keep forgetting I have it! Thanks for including my ranchero sauce in your roundup this week. I so appreciate the shout-out! Enjoy these last days of summer, my friend.
