Happy Sunday, friends! It’s Sunday and time for another Mitten Moments. If you’re new here, Mitten Moments are all those moments from my week that brought me joy, comfort and inspiration. So grab your favorite place to sit and your favorite cup of and join me as I share!

We had the best day at the Detroit Lions preseason game! Our friend’s who are family, have a daughter and she is a NFL cheerleader for the team. My oldest granddaughter LOVES her and had the greatest time being a little cheerleader for the day. Family fun and amazing memories! What could be better! Oh…and Go Lions!!! We are ready for the season to start!

My Personal Moments
- In sad news, I had to pull part of my raised bed garden out. Some of the plants, especially the cucumbers, had run their course. It’s been especially hot here this summer, and the garden was extra work to maintain. Even so, I’m sad to see it start coming to an end.
- By now, I’m sure all the littles (or big kids) in your life are back to school. It was a big week for our oldest granddaughter. She started kindergarten, and it honestly tugged at my heart. I cried every day for a week straight the week before her daddy (my oldest) went to kindergarten. Now his oldest is off and running to school. Where does the time go?
- We may be a little late to the game, but Big Al and I just started watching The Pitt on HBO. It’s a medical drama that focuses on the staff of the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, which is nicknamed “The Pitt” by it’s employees. Each episode in the season represents an hour in their 15 hour shift in the overcrowded emergency room. It’s real and pretty raw at points, but very, very good!
- My new read in the que is High Season by Katie Bishop. This novel is a dual-time psychological thriller about a woman, who as a child, testified that she saw her family’s babysitter murder her older sister. Fast forward twenty years and a true crime documentary re-opens the case and causes her to confront the possibility that her childhood memory was wrong and an innocent person was sent to prison.

A Few of My Favorite Moments
Yes, I’m still savoring the last days of summer, but like many, I’m thinking about all things fall. Especially those yummy fall treats. My friend Elizabeth from Pinecones and Acorns shared Ina Garten’s Old Fashioned Apple Crisp and it definitely has me looking forward to apple picking days!

It’s a great time for corn here in the Mitten. I came across this recipe from my friend Missy at Sonata Home Designs and knew I had to run out to the road side stand and grab some fresh corn. Her Avocado Corn Chicken Salad looks scrumptious and one I’m sure to be making!

And Now…
Here are some other WONDERFUL moments I found:
