Mitten Moments

Hello! Happy Sunday! Happy first NFL football Sunday! I’ll be watching the Detroit Lions, but before they kick-off I want to share all my weekly Mitten Moments with you!

If you’re a grandparent, Happy Grandparents’ Day to you! We had a fun morning celebrating with my mom!

“Sunday is for Jesus and football. Sunday is a time for family, football, and maybe a little bit of yelling at the TV.” – Unknown

My Personal Moments

  • We had another milestone in the family this week. Our twins started soccer and they were the cutest! These core moments of kindergarten, soccer etc., have hit my heart real big. When I see my grands doing all the events that we did with our own sons, it takes me back to such a sweet time in our lives. Precious memories for me, and now new precious memories being made.
  • Jenna Bush Hagar hosts a book club on the Today show called ‘Read with Jenna,’ where she selects a new book to read each month. For September, she chose the novel Buckeye by Patrick Ryan. Jenna said it was one of the best books she has read in the last decade. I just started reading it and agree, it’s excellent! The book explores themes of love, war, family secrets, forgiveness, and the idea that the choices we make can echo through generations. I hope you grab a copy and let me know what you think!

A Few of My Favorite Moments

If you still have cherry tomatoes in the garden, this next recipe is for you! Wendy from WM Design House shared her Easy Cherry Tomato Jam Recipe. My cherry tomatoes are still going strong so I can’t wait to try this!

A photo showing several small glass mason jars filled with homemade tomato jam. The jam has a deep red color and a thick, chunky texture with visible seeds. Two small clusters of fresh cherry tomatoes are arranged around the jars, with another cluster hanging from a large galvanized metal jug in the background.

The arrival of fall brings a variety of wonderful smells. Cinnamon, apples, oranges, pumpkin, cloves, and other spices can give your home the coziest feel. My friend Stephanie, from Returning Grace recently shared her Fall Simmer Pot Recipe and Free Printable Gift Tag. Simmer pots are a natural way to make your house smell amazing.

Susan from Hen and Horse Design shared her Small Batch Chocolate Chunk Toffee Cookie Recipe. Think warm, delicious cookies, but in a small batch recipe that is just right!
