Mitten Moments

Happy Sunday, friends! It’s time to slow down, grab your favorite cozy drink, and settle in for another edition of Mitten Moments. For my new readers, this is my dedicated space to share all the simple joys, some personal moments and sparks of inspiration that brightened my week.

My granddaughters and I made a ghost garland with some of my leftover fabric, small craft balls and yarn. They did a great job! It was a great fine motor skill craft; they loved going through my fabric, picking out the pieces they loved. I may blog about it, but I might keep the sweet memory all to myself!

My Personal Moments

  • I’ve decided to start a new series on the blog. I don’t quite have the title for the series, but I can tell you it’s going to be all about gratitude and grace. I have all kinds of stories and ideas I can’t wait to share with you!
  • This will go down as a memorable fall in Michigan! The weather has been unseasonably warm. Yesterday, I cut my last roses…at least I think they are my last, and the leaves on the trees are finally fully turning. It seems crazy to have cut flowers and beautiful fall leaves all at the same time. But hear me when I say, that it’s a good and gorgeous crazy!
  • I’m working on a new holiday book list. It’s always exciting to share my seasonal favorites with you. To get you in the Christmas spirit, you can preorder A Ferry Merry Christmas by Debbie Macomber. It features siblings Avery and Reed Bond, who are planning to spend their first Christmas without the grandmother who raised them. When a mechanical failure strands Avery on a Puget Sound ferry, the unforeseen delay connects both Avery (with a handsome sailor) and Reed (with a coworker) to surprising new romantic possibilities, proving the holiday magic can appear when you least expect it. I don’t share many romance novels, but this one looks so good and perfect for that holiday magic!
The book cover for "A Ferry Merry Christmas" by Debbie Macomber shows a woman in a red coat and hat standing on the deck of a Christmas-decorated ferry with a wreath, looking out at the choppy blue water. The Seattle Space Needle is visible in the background.

My friend Jen from Midwest Life and Style has some amazing recipes. Her Easy No-Bake Pumpkin Cheesecake in a Jar is so yummy and perfect for fall!

Individual pumpkin cheesecake mousse cups with graham cracker crust, topped with whipped cream and a graham cracker, perfect no-bake fall dessert in small glass jars.

Rachel from The Ponds Farmhouse, shared 5 Natural DIY Candle Rings in Under 10 Minutes. With some a few natural elements (foraging is my favorite!) and your handy dandy glue gun, you can create these pretty rings for your home, too!
