Welcome back to my latest edition of Mitten Moments, where I pause to share a slice of life from my cozy Michigan cottage home! As a lifelong Michigander, I know the magic that comes with cozying up as the seasons change. Whether I’m sharing a DIY project, sharing a simple recipe or just finding joy in the everyday beauty, for me it’s all about connecting and celebrating the beauty of home, family and friends! Now, grab your favorite cup of, and cozy up for another inspirational week of Mitten Moments!

Friends, it’s a snowy Sunday here in the Mitten! Yes, you read that right…snow! Where else can you see gorgeous color, cut your roses, and enjoy the first snow, in fall? Michigan…here in Michigan! Our red maple, magnolia and white fringe trees are still completely full of leaves. We had such a warm start that it took the trees awhile to turn and they haven’t caught up to the snow. Living here as long as I have, I know this snow won’t last, and the leaves will eventually fall. Everything in nature catches up in it’s own time!
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” – Ecclesiastes 3:1

My Personal Moments
- Do you remember making giant leaf piles as a kid? Oh, what fun it was to rake that pile and jump into it! My granddaughters and I did just that, last week. Let me tell you, that pile of leaves provided an afternoon of outdoor excitement! I’m glad we got it in before the snow. It will take the leaves a few days to dry out!
- Big Al, our family, and our good friends are going to cut Christmas trees, this week! We’ve been doing it since our kids were first born and it’s such a fun way to create memories, sharing the day with family and friends. The thrill of hunting for the perfect tree, well it’s the best feeling ever! If you cut your own, check out my post Fresh Cut Christmas Tree: Secret Hacks to Keep It Thriving.
