Happy Saturday from the Mitten and welcome to my Mitten Moments!
You know, those random moments from my week that I am sharing with you.
The Eskimo has fifty-two names for snow because it’s important to them; there ought to be as many for love.” – Margaret Atwood
This week, I went to such a fun Galatine’s gathering with my besties. My friend, Tamara from The Mitin Collective has the prettiest home decor store and hosted the gathering. We had a great time and of course, some pretty things were purchased. If you’re local, make sure to check out her store. I just love shopping local!
Don’t you?

Have you ever been to an ice festival? Last February, I attended my first ice festival. Conveniently, it was right outside my window at work. It was outside my window again, this week. It’s so cool to watch them create art out of a block of ice! A fun event for a date night…or day!
Are you ready for the Super Bowl? Hopefully, you will be eating all the yummy bowl food and hanging with friends. My house will be rooting for our traded Lion’s quarterback, Matt Stafford. Although he no longer plays for the Lions, our house will be roaring for a Rams win!
A Few Favorite Mitten Moments
I’ve had fun seeing all the things Valentine this week. Since Valentine’s Day is Monday, I thought I would share some of those posts with you. By the way, did you see my Valentine’s Day Pom Pom Wreath I made?
Jen from Midwest Life and Style made this yummy and festive Valentine Snack Mix. Easy, pretty and perfect for Valentine’s Day! If you don’t know Jen, check out her beautiful blog!

My good pal, Jen from Cottage on Bunker Hill, is the queen of Pottery Barn dupes and she is so good at it! This week, she shared this pretty Textured Heart Wall Art. Do yourself a favor and hop over to her lovely blog!

Random Trivia
Did you know those cute candy hearts were originally medical lozenges?
“In 1847, Boston pharmacist Oliver Chase invented a machine that simplified the lozenge production process, resulting in the first candy-making machine. After identifying an opportunity to revolutionize the candy business, Chase shifted his focus to candy production with Necco wafers.”
I dare you not to remember this next time you eat one!
