Happy weekend from the Mitten! The weather is a tad bit warmer this week and it’s not snowing, so I’ll take it! My tulips are coming up so I am considering that a weather win! Our Mitten weather has been so mixed up these days. Hopefully, your weather is warming up where you are! Rain, snow or sunshine…I’m still bringing you my Mitten Moments.

First up, it was a big milestone week here at the Cottage in the Mitten! Two years ago, Monday, April 4th, I began my venture as a blogger. Two years!! I followed God’s lead and it has been a wonderful two years. I’ve learned so much and gained some wonderful friends and readers along the way. I’ve sold many blankets over the past two years to people all over the United States. A big thank you to all of you who have encouraged me, supported me and support the cause I am so passionate about! I’m forever grateful and appreciate you more than you will ever know!
“The things you are passionate about are not random, they are your calling.” – Fabienne Fredrickson
I also finished The Gilded Age, this week. Did you watch? If so, let me know what you thought. I loved it, however, I am a lover of period dramas.
Now what am I going to watch? I’m open to suggestions.

My Mitten Moments On The Blog
The last two weeks have been a much slower pace.
I’m not mad about it. Sometimes we need to slow down to appreciate everything around us.
Do you ever feel like that?
Last week, I was a lucky gal and participated in the Celebrating Spring Home Tour with 20 other amazing bloggers. I shared My Simple Spring Bedroom Refresh.
This Thursday, I joined thirteen of my blogging friends for another Spring Decor Blog Hop. It’s always so much fun sharing space with my friends. I always come away with some great decor ideas, too! I shared A Few Easy Ways To Add Cheerful Spring Decor.
Yes, it is still cold here, however, if I can’t see spring outside, I want to at least see spring in my home!

A Few Favorite Mitten Moments
Being that I sew for a cause, I think it is so important to support small business. Today, I want to share a couple of local small businesses that I love. They do ship, so even if you aren’t local you can try them!
1)First up is Karissa from DaisyMae Candles. Shortly after I started blogging, I ran across her local candle company online. My first order, was actually delivered by Karissa, directly to my door! How nice was that! I have been buying and shouting out her company since. She recently made some candles for my Daughter-in-law’s sprinkle.
All of her candles are hand poured using phthalate-free fragrances, soy wax, and cotton wicks; for a clean, even burn from start to finish.
2)Next is a sweet friend, Melissa from Graceful Mama Boutique. Talk about cute items! This mama makes custom apparel, bags and custom orders. She recently made the sweetest gift for my gbaby and her twin siblings on the way. If you are looking for that speciality item, please check her out!
She is currently running a 15% off sale and free shipping for all orders, no minimum through Easter!

Random Trivia
In honor of the month of April, I thought I would share some fun April facts with you.
- Two flowers signify the month of April: the daisy and the sweet pea.
- The diamond is April’s birth stone.
- The first Sunday in April was called Daffodil Sunday, during Victorian times in England. Families picked daffodils from their gardens and surrounding areas and took them to local hospitals to give to the sick.
- The third Sunday in April is Go Fly A Kite Day! Who knew…get your kites ready!!
