Good morning! How are you on this last Saturday in April? I’m good and looking forward to the day! I’m heading out to the Michigan Antique and Collectibles Festival! Sounds fun, right? Wish me luck! I’m hoping to find a specific piece I’ve been looking for. Before I leave, I want to share all those good Mitten Moments from my week!
I know some of you in the Midwest had snow this week. Will it ever end? Here in the Mitten we got below freezing this week. After our night of frigid tempatures, I woke up to find all my tulips were severly drooping. I thought all my beautiful tulips were doomed. Turns out, I was so wrong!
Another week or so and my tulips will finally all be in full bloom!
Here’s hoping your spring flowers have made it through all the unseasonably weird weather!

Have you seen the new Marilyn Monroe documentary on Netflix? It’s called The Mystery of Marily Monroe: The Unheard Tapes. I watched it earlier this week and it was really good! It’s so interesting and I learned so many things about her. I had no idea the sad childhood she endured. If you are looking for something to watch, I give it a two thumbs up!

Random Trivia
Have you ever wondered how flea markets got their name?
There is a general agreement that the term ‘Flea Market’ is a literal translation of the French marché aux puces, an outdoor bazaar in Paris, France, named after fleas (sometimes called wingless bloodsuckers) that infested the upholstery of old furniture brought out to sell.
Wow…think about that next time you go thrifting!
And Now…
Here are some other WONDERFUL moments I found this week:
This pretty home on the Cape Cod
These Scandinavian Spring Homes
This fun pool noodle art
This repurposed entertainment center
Well, that’s all for this Saturday! I’m off to the vintage market! Wish me luck!
As always, I’m so grateful you’re here!
I hope all the moments of your Saturday bring you more joy than you could imagine!

Hope you found an amazing piece! Next time you go I want to come!
I didn’t find the piece I was looking for but I found some beautiful amber depression glass!
Yay for weekend vintage shopping! I hope you had a great time 🥰 What a crazy thing about the history behind flea markets! Agh! I buy pieces to reupholster often. The first thing I do is spray them down with bug spray and then leave them in my garage. Maybe I need to spray them with a little extra bug killer! Thanks for sharing our entertainment center makeover!
You’re welcome! It was a successful thrifting trip! I actually thought about you when I wrote about the “flea market”!:) I know you reupholster many pieces. Hope you have an amazing first week of May!
