Happy Memorial Weekend Saturday! Do you have any fun plans this weekend? The weather is supposed to be good the next three days, so I’ll be soaking up all the good weather and making some wonderful Mitten Moments with our family and friends.
“Heroism doesn’t always happen in a burst of glory. Sometimes small triumphs and large hearts change the course of history.” – Mary Roach
As a child, I remember my parents referred to Memorial Day as Decoration Day. Rightfully so, as we always made a trip to the cemetary to lay flowers on my family members graves who served. I recently read that it was originally called Decoration Day and it originated during the American Civil War. People would place flowers on the graves of those who had been killed in battle.
So important to remember those who served.

This weekend, I’m finishing my patio decor and finally planting all my flowers. I purchased some new items for this season and I can’t wait for you to see it. You can check out 7 Of The Best Outdoor Decor Items For Summer, that I recently found.
I started reading A Lovely Life: Savoring Simple Joys in Every Season, by Melissa Michaels. Have you heard of it? It’s a pretty book where Melissa shares how to embrace the rhythms of every season and the routines of each day encouraging us to be more thankful.
It’s so good!
You didn’t see me here on the blog, last weekend. I was creating some very special moments with my new granddaughters! That’s right…plural! My oldest son and DIL had twins and our family couldn’t be happier. I am now the proud Mimi of three beautiful granddaughters. Being an only child, I always wanted a big family and we are certainly on our way!
Aren’t they the sweetest?!

This Week On The Blog
It was a fun week on the blog! I joined some of my talented blogging friends for a Patriotic Decor Blog Hop. There was so much inspiration and just in time for Memorial Day. Remember, all that inspiration can be used for July 4th and Labor Day too!
I had so much fun sharing How To Create An Easy Patriotic Tablescape. Did you get to see it? I used some vintage red, white and blue glasses that have great memories and speacial meaning to me.
If you missed the post, there’s still time to get some simple decor inspiration for your holiday!
