Good morning and welcome to my Mitten Moments!
Even though we have a few days until the “official” start of summer, it seems it’s in full swing in the Mitten! It has been in the 90’s this week and we’ve had plenty of sunshine. I’m loving it and enjoying spending my free time outdoors.
Tomorrow is Father’s Day but we will be celebrating today, with a yummy BBQ. We’ll be gathering with our kids and grand girls. What could be better than that??

Have you seen the new Jurassic Park? Yes, I am a big fan of the series, but if I am being honest, this one wasn’t my favorite. You may love it but it didn’t really wow me.
If you’ve seen it, let me know what you think!
Did you read that I’m getting ready to host my very first book club? Have you ever hosted or been in a book club? Since my last Mitten Moments, I shared 7 Ways To Host A Book Club. I give you easy and fun ways to start one of your own. I’ll be sharing my book choice each month here on my Mitten Moments. If you have a book that you’ve read and loved, let me know in the comments below. I’d love to hear your suggestions!
This Week On The Blog
It was a fun week on the blog! I participated in the Bloggers’ Best Summer Home Tour which is hosted by my good friend Kelly from The Tattered Pew.
If you missed it, I shared my Bright Cottage in the Mitten Summer Patio. You all know I love color and so it will be no surprise that my patio decor is bright and cheery.

It’s so fun to see everyone’s style and decor. If you are looking for summer decor ideas you still have time to check it out!

A Few Favorite Mitten Moments
This week, I had the pleasure of meeting Elizabeth from The Country Peony. She has the most beautiful craft room and I couldn’t wait to share it with you! If you don’t know Elizabeth do yourself a favor and check out her blog.
Isn’t this view dreamy?! Wait until you see the rest of the space. Trust me, it will be time well spent!

Do you know my friend Kristin from White Arrows Home? She has the most amazing log cabin “up north” in Wisconsin. She loves Skotch Coolers, books and is multi-talented. Kristin even has her own podcast called The Cabincast. I love her warm inviting style and wanted to share her outdoor summer home tour with you.

Lastly, do you love Mexican food? It is honestly my favorite type of food. In my quest for making something new for dinner, I found the easiest and Best Green Chile Chicken Enchilada recipe from Lil’ Luna. I love green chile better than a red sauce so this dish is right up my alley.

Hi Kim! Thank you for sharing my DIY citronella candles! Those were fun to make, smell amazing, and really work. I’m so glad we connected through the summer home tour. I hope you have a great weekend!!!
You are so welcome! Very glad we could connect, too! Happy Sunday!
Is that a fireplace table on your patio? If so, please share how you like it. You know we have a big yard and Al built a bonfire circle out back. But sometimes I’d like to stay close to the house on the actual patio and not wander into the back forty with wet grass and bugs. Call me wimpy. I love your patio, Kim! So bright and cheery! What a great place to enjoy morning coffee or a little reprieve from housework during the day. Not to mention evening dinners with family and friends. Mine definitely could use some cheering up so thanks for the bright ideas! xoxo
Awe, thank you Michelle! It is a fireplace table and we love it! We don’t have a big yard space like you, so this works perfect for us. Heading out for some morning tea now! xoxo
Wishing you a wonderful day tomorrow celebrating Father’s Day. It was so much fun this week with all the summer home tours. Loved all the inspiring blog posts you shared today. Hugs.
It was a fun week! Hope you have a lovely weekend! xo
Your patio looks so fresh and colorful… very inspiring. And I love your nails. I haven’t had an ombré color done on my nails in a long time. I think I will get one next week. Have a nice Father’s Day celebration with the fam.
I am loving the ombre nails!! I had them done last week for a wedding. Have a fun Sunday! xo
Happy Fathers day weekend, I hope the celebration was a lot of fun.
I love Kristians beautiful house, she is an incredible designer and blogger. Thank you for the introduction to The Country Peony, what a beautiful craft space!
Happy Weekend.
Thank you so much, Elizabeth! Glad you enjoyed and hope you have a great weekend!
Happy Fathers Day Weekend! Thanks for all the great inspiration!
You’re welcome! Happy Sunday, Mary Anne!
I loved your pretty tour, Kim. So bright and summery. I haven’t seen the new Jurassic Park movie yet, but I’ve heard the same thing from others who have. Bummer.
Thank you, Jen! Have a wonderful Sunday!
First, I love your coffee mug! Have several favorites and many with a story. I love that quiet time, first thing in the am with a cup of coffee. Time to reflect on the day. Thoughts often go to who or where I got the mug from. So many wonderful memories.
Your patio is beautiful! Looking so inviting. Love your table!
Hope you and your family enjoyed a wonderful Father’s Day Celebration.
What a beautiful post, Kim! Loved it!
Thanks so much, Leslie!
