It was a relatively quiet week here in the Mitten. Quiet, yet very productive! No big blog posts…just a lot of prep for some great posts I have coming up! Speaking of productive, I found some fun Mitten Moments this week.
Can you believe it’s the first weekend in August? Hard to believe! Depending on where you live, I know some of your kids are heading back to school, this month. Here in the Mitten the kids don’t go back until after Labor Day.

We had some raging thunderstorms this week and I can’t say I was sad about it. I always love a good thunderstorm! Not to mention, the flowers and grass really needed the rain so that was a big plus too!
Speaking of flowers, mine are still thriving! How about yours? Are they getting the end of the season blahs, yet?

I had my book club, this week. We read The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave. On a scale of 1-10, I give it about a 5. Definitely a fast and easy read, but some parts just seemed too far fetched for me.
Let me just say, the food and friendship was a definite 10! If you want to know how to start a book club you can read my post on 7 Easy Ways To Host A Book Club.

Next up is Lauren and Robert. They are the dynamic duo from Bless’er House. This week, they shared 100 Best Outdoor Movies to Watch for a Backyard Movie Night. Kim, we had lots of evening thunder storms here too. The plants need it so much. We welcome the rain as well. I see everyone’s beautiful Zinnias but mine did not do so well this year. It’s trail and error sometimes with plants. Next year time to relocate to a different spot. So much inspiration here and will be reading this morning all of the posts from links you provide. Hugs to you my sweet friend. Wish we were on the longest yard sale this week together getting into mischief.
My zinnias didn’t do great either. There is always next year, friend! We would have fun on that yard sale together! Maybe we plan to meet next year for it! Have a wonderful vacation! xo
Kim your flowers look beautiful! Mine are not to so well with all the heat! That outdoors movie night looks so fun! I’ve always wanted to host one! Thanks for the great shares!
Thanks Mary Anne! My flowers have done so well this summer, despite the hot weather. Glad you enjoyed my Mitten Moments!
Oh how I wish we had thunder storms, only in my dreams. We had 102 degress today and the flowers are looking very sad.
I can’t wait to try the sourdough pancakes, my hubby will love them and what a fun movie night list you shared.
Thanks for sharing my post as well. I enjoyed reading your beautiful blog post.
Thank you, Wendy! I hope you have a wonderful week!
I hope you get some rain, Wendy! I know it has been a scorcher in so many places. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
Good morning Kim,
I love seeing your Mitten Moments pop up I my feed, I was born in the mitten and lived there for many years so your posts always remind me of my roots.
As for this post, so many beautiful links. Pancakes are one of my favorites too! I don’t make sourdough but I may start just to make these pancakes.
I grew zinnias for my first time this year and they are beautiful, the deer and I are both enjoying them. LOL.
Have a wonderful week.
Looking forward to seeing the posts you have been working on.
