Fall in the Mitten is turning out to be pretty good so far! The trees are turning, the weather has been exceptional and there’s some amazing Mitten Moments to share with you!
My Personal Mitten Moments
Can you believe it’s the first full week of October? I’ve already watched the original Halloween movie for the first time this season. I’m not much of a scary movie buff, but this one takes me back. It was the first “really scary” movie I ever saw at the theatre. I always watch it once…or maybe twice through the month of October.
Do you still have summer flowers blooming? Believe it or not, I still have zinnias, straw flowers, roses, celosia, and dahlias blooming.
We may get to freezing tonight, so I am going to cover them! Some of you may say it’s time for the summer flowers to go, but I can’t let any of those beautiful blooms go to waste.

A Few Of My Favorite Mitten Moments
Carbs. I love carbs. When I saw last weeks post from My friend Leslie from Feet Under My Table, it stopped me in my tracks. It was the prettiest braided loaf of yeast bread! Do I need this recipe?
Yes, I do…and so do you!

Who remembers the movie Hocus Pocus? I can’t count how many times I’ve seen that movie. When my sons were growing up it was watched multiple times…and maybe even after they were gone. In honor of the Hocus Pocus 2 premiering Friday, wouldn’t it be super fun to create this Hocus Pocus Charcuterie Board from Kelli and Kristi at Lolly Jane.
If you make this food beauty, you’ll be the hit of the party!
” It’s all just a bunch of hocus pocus.” —Max.

Thank you for sharing my recipe this week! I’m truly thankful…and that roast beef needs that bread to join it! I’m in love with so much on your shopping links! That orange blanket may need to come join me!
Haha! Yes, the bread would be great with that roast! Have a great week, Leslie! 💛
Friday evening, I watched Hocus Pocus 2. I loved the first movie and could not wait to watch the second one. Yes, we still have summer flowers blooming. Just a few and almost done. Hope you have a wonderful week, Kim.
I just watched it tonight! So fun! Happy week, Tammy! xo
Thanks Kim! I always enjoy reading your blog, and I love your Mitten Moments.
Thanks so much, Ruth! Hope you are all doing well! xo
Kim, your flowers are still amazing. It was a beautiful weekend in the mitten to share with family. That charcuterie board gave me an idea for book club. It looks so yummy.
It’s amazing how well the flowers have done! Can’t wait for book club!
Your dahlias are just so beautiful Kim! I agree, it is hard to believe it is the beginning of October. However, I am so ready for the cool weather.
I hope your week ahead is a great one
Thank you, Wendy! They have been a ray of sunshine as the weather turns cool. Enjoy your week!!
Hi Kim, I couldn’t be happier with the wreath I ordered from your website. It’s just perfect above my mantle. I keep eyeballing those faux eucalyptus leaves too. I better decide soon! Isn’t it awesome living life through our children’s eyes? Hocus Pocus is a must here every year now too! Since I’m sick at home, I’m going to check out that soup recipe!
Oh, I’m so glad you love the wreath! The eucalyptus leaves are inexpensive and my favorite faux branches, yet! Feel better, friend!😘
