Mitten Moments

Happy snowy Sunday from my cottage to yours. It’s Sunday and that means today is the day I share my Mitten Moments with you!

My day started with a very slippery ride to church and an amazing lunch spent with Big Al, our kids and grands. There’s nothing I enjoy more than being with my family!

Nothing!

“To appreciate the beauty of a snowflake it is necessary to stand out in the cold.”– Aristotle

My Personal Mitten Moments

Most of you who follow along know I’ve had some wrist surgeries and alot of therapy over the last year. I’m happy to report that I am finally almost a 100%! This means I can sew and crochet again. Both of which I started this past week. I feel so liberated!!!

By the way, did you know I make blankets for a cause? You can check out all about it in my post The Journey.

“Fairy tales are more than true: not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.”― Neil Gaiman

Do you enjoy a good book? If so, what are you currently reading? I’d love to hear about it and if you have any suggestions, that would be great too! I’m getting ready to start Verity by Colleen Hoover. I’ve seen her books popping up everywhere and decided it’s time to try one. I’ll keep you posted on how I like it.

In case you’re looking for something new to read, here’s a list of books on my to read list:

The Prayer Box – Lisa Wingate

The Woman in the Attic – Emily Hepditch

The Hotel Nantucket – Elin Hilderbrand

Big Al and I started watching 1883 on Paramount Plus, earlier this week. Have you seen it? Give me any kind of period drama and I’m usually on board!

This week on Instagram and Facebook stories, I started sharing Motivation Monday and Wednesday’s Word. Each week on Monday and Wednesday, I’ll post some encouraging words to help get you through the week. I have some friends who occassionally post uplifting words and it’s a supportive little pick-me-up! I hope you enjoy my new weekly additions.

Did you get to see my dollhouse post? This week, I shared How To Make An Old Dollhouse New – Part 2. What a joy to work on it over the last two months. Honestly, this project was a labor of love. Big Al did so much of the work. I couldn’t have done it without him!

A Few Of My Favorite Moments

I love avocado! Literally love it. When I saw this recipe from CoCo at The Crowned Goat, I knew I had to make it! CoCo shared a Delicious Open-Faced Breakfast Sandwich, with avocado!

C’mon on friends…how yummy does this look?!

My friend, Rachel from The Ponds Farmhouse is so very creative. This week, she shared How To Make Paper Flowers With Book Pages. In the photo below, she used them in her tablesetting, adding her guests name to each one.

Aren’t they so unique and elegant? I’m thinking of making them for my next book club gathering! The perfect touch for my book club, right?

Gallery walls are currently a hot decor item! You can’t open a magazine without seeing them. I’ve recently been working on putting one together, as well. My good buddy, Kelly from The Tattered Pew shared Easy to Do Gallery Wall Ideas, this week.

If you’re looking to add a gallery wall into your home, go check out Kelly’s post! It’s sure to inspire you!

Next up, is Wendy from WM Design House. She made the cutest wreath out of pinecones! You can see how she did it in her post How To Make A Pink Heart Pinecone Wreath.

And Now…

Here are some other WONDERFUL mitten moments I found:

These best white paint colors for 2023

This cinnamon roll bread

These Valentine’s Day outfit ideas

That’s all the moments for this week. I hope you enjoyed them and they have inspired you!

Kim, I am glad to hear that your wrist is 100% better. I know you are itching to get back to doing your quilts. I love that you have snow. We still have not had any snow. Only that one day of a few flurries before Christmas. It’s been a warm January. Love that you are doing Motivations Mondays and Wednesdays Words. I look forward to reading it. That book Woman In The Attic sounds interesting. I have not bought any new books lately. Just reading some gardening books that I had on hand.
