It’s time for another exciting installment of my weekly post, Mitten Moments! I was off last week and had a great 4th of July and just spending time hanging out with family and friends. Michigan is a huge automotive town and as long as I can remember, the industry has “shutdown” the week of July 4th.
As my vacation haze begins to fade and a new week awaits, stop on by and check out all my mitten moments I’ve found.

My Personal Mitten Moments
- As I said earlier, Big Al and I had the last week off work from our day jobs. We didn’t go anywhere, but we did do some projects around the house. One of those projects was adding some more plants to our gardens. I have been wanting to try my hand at hydrangeas (again) so, we bought a few Annabelle hydrangeas and a Nantucket Blue hydrangea. I can’t wait to add some to a vase! I know exactly where I’ll put them.

- Do you enjoy going to the movies? I saw the new movie Indian Jones and the Dial of Destiny with my family and our good friends. The movie hasn’t received great reviews but my movie going gang thought it was super entertaining; averaging a 7! If you’re an Indiana Jones fan and are on the fence due to the reviews you’ve read, I say give it a chance!
- I’m heading to The 6th annual Detroit Festival of Books, later this week. I love holding and reading a good book! If you’re a book junkie like me, and live in the Detroit Metro area, this is going to be a great event!

A Few Of My Favorite Moments
Speaking of Italy and Tomato Girl Summer, my friend Juliet from Make Mine a Spritzer, just went to Italy! Her post How I Spent a Week in Italy, was amazing! It was fun to see where she went and her pictures were breathtaking.

My friend Michele from Vintage Home Designs shared the prettiest Home Tour with Summer Inspiration and Design Ideas. Farmhouse Living recently filmed her home as part of their summer home tour series, so you know this is definitely a tour you don’t want to miss!

I just love sharing sweet treats with my friends, and today I am sharing one from Lee over at Lane and Grey Fare. Her recipes are all 100 percent gluten free, nut free, seed free, egg free and most of her baked goods can easily be made dairy free (vegan).
Make sure you check out her Lemon Blueberry Cookies! If you are wondering, she does give substitutions on her recipes in case you don’t want the gluten free option!

Since I’m now the owner of some beautiful hydrangeas, I need all the help I can get on keeping them growing and healthy! My good friend Kim from Shiplap and Shells shared the Ultimate Guide to Grow and Care for Hydrangeas for Beginners. I’m a beginner so this was the perfect read for me!
Kim has an absolutely beautiful account and I know you are going to love it!

And now…
Here are some other WONDERFUL moments I found:
These top choices for pillow inserts and expert tips
This potager garden: blending beauty and functionality
How to create a garden journal
This strawberry mango boba smoothie
There you have all my moments from the week!
If you are heading back to work after the holiday week, I hope you’re week is a smooth and easy transition. Remember to take time to review and reflect on what you enjoyed most. Then give yourself some grace as you settle back in!
Until next time, be blessed my friends!

Kim I love your new hydrangeas! You chose the best ones too! Glad you got a lot done on your time off and thank you for sharing my pillow insert post. Love ya!
I am so excited about my new hydrangeas! Fingers crossed they do well. Yours are gorgeous!! Have a great week, friend! 😘
I am so glad you got some rest this week and your hydrangeas are beautiful!
Thank you, Amy!! It was a great week!
Thanks, Kim for the movie review. I’ve been thinking about going to see it but wasn’t sure. Hydrangeas are wonderful. They grow like weeds in my garden although this year mine have succumbed to some mould so I need to treat that. They flower here almost all year around so we’re very lucky. Good luck with yours.
The movie is definitely worth a look see! I have struggled with hydrangeas in the past, but I’ve tried a different variety so I am hopeful! Thanks for stopping by, Carol!
Kim, how absolutely lovely for you to include me in your weekly roundup. I love all the links … especially those lemon blueberry cookies. Yum! Sure to appreciate the hydrangea care link. Very timely as mine are starting to look like they need some help and there’s no one like Kim to provide it. Have a wonderful week! xo
My pleasure, Juliet! A lovely post it is! 💛
Kim,
It sounds like a lovely week at home. I cannot wait to see where you put your first hydrangeas! Good luck with them.
I have a post in my queue for Tomato girl summer. it is a fun concept. Although I will be honest, I am more of a coastal grandma girl.

Thank you! I am going to need all the luck I can get with my hydrangeas! I love the Tomato Girl Summer concept…at least for this summer! Thanks for stopping Elizabeth!
