Happy Sunday, friends! Welcome to another exciting edition of my weekly newsletter, Mitten Moments! I’m thrilled to bring you all that’s been going on and the latest from some of my blogging pals!
It’s crazy to me how fast time is swiftly passing by! It’s already mid-September and things are changing quickly. Some of my flowers have seen their last days and we tore most of the family garden up, earlier this week. It seems as though we just planted it!
Since we are upon the last week of summer, I thought I would share one more photo of my beautiful zinnias! Unfortunately, I’ve had to pull some of my flowers and dispose of some of my pots, already. However, the zinnias are still going strong and I’m so grateful for their continued beauty!

My Personal Mitten Moments
- Do you watch the Magnolia Network? If so, you have probably heard of Jean Stoffer. I just bought tickets for the Madison Holiday Home Tour. That’s right! I’m ringing in the holiday season with a festive walk-through of Jean Stoffer’s home, in November. I’ll be sure to share all about it when I return!
- I just started a new book and I can’t wait to share it with you. “Hidden Pictures” is a captivating mystery novel that weaves an intricate web of secrets and suspense, keeping you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Pick it up and let me know what you think! I will be sharing some of my favorite books for fall, later in the week.

- The Detroit Lions won their first game against the Kansas City Chiefs! This die-hard fan is mighty happy about that first win. Can they make it 2-0 later today?

Even though it’s September and fall is in the air, my next share is one you still have plenty of time to do!
Do you have hydrangeas? If so, have you ever tried to dry them?
I’ve loved hydrangeas as long as I can remember. This year, Big Al and I planted a garden of hydrangeas at our home, right behind our white picket fence. The perfect cottage vibe, right?? I’m enjoying my new hydrangea garden so much and decided to start drying them.

Have you decorated your home for fall, yet? Last week, I shared my own Easy Fall Home Tour: A Celebration of the Changing Season. Also, 25+ of my blogging friends shared their homes, too. If you missed it, make sure you check it out. It’s fun to share all the ways I’ve decorated for the season, from cozy throw pillows to festive wreaths.
There’s so much fall inspiration waiting for you!

I found two scruptious desserts that I want to share with you. Why keep all the goodness to myself?

Thanks Tina! Let me know how the hydrangea drying goes. I have some more drying now. Be patient as it takes about two weeks.
Kim,
Jeanne Stoffer is AMAZING! I am so excited for you to go to her holiday house and I am excited for the rest for the rest of us to live vicariously through you. It is going to be fabulous!
Thank you for sharing my bread! I hope everyone enjoyed it.
Time seems to go so much faster the older you get. I agree with you, it seems like just yesterday we were planting our seeds and waiting for spring flowers.
I wish I had hydrangeas but that it s battle I do not want to fight with the resident deer family. I will have to get some hydragneas from friends to try your drying method.
Have a wonderful week Kim. I am off to check out all of your links!
