Hey friends! Happy Sunday and welcome to another weekly addition of my Mitten Moments.
Pumpkin spice and everything nice is here! Fall arrived yesterday and of course, it has been sunny and 80 degrees in the Mitten. Not exactly the temperature you expect for the first weekend of fall, but I’ll take the blue skies and sunshine all day long! Did you do anything special to celebrate fall?
We had a fun night enjoying dinner with friends at the famous Detroit Yacht Club, located on Belle Isle, Michigan. This is an island in the Detroit River. The club was founded in 1868. The current building, which is beautiful, was constructed in 1924. So much history! I love a good period drama and my mind drifted thinking about the attire worn and the gatherings they had in 1924!

My Personal Mitten Moments
- You probably aren’t aware that as a blogger, I can see what area of the country people are viewing my blog. Earlier this week, I noticed someone from Ukraine was on my blog. Now that might not seem like a big deal to you, but in the grand scheme it took me back. A war torn country and someone was out there looking at my blog. I hope I made them smile.
- The inside of my home is ready for fall and has been for sometime…blogger life! Today, I started decorating outside! I’m adding all the warm inviting colors for the season. I’ll be sharing my porches soon, but in the meantime, check out my Simple Way to Decorate Your Fall Porch, from last year!

Reading a good book truly is an enriching experience. It introduces you to fascinating characters, transports you to different times and allows you to explore new ideas and perspectives. In a world filled with distractions, reading a good book remains a wonderful past time.
As promised, this week I shared 9 of the Best Books to Read This Fall. You’ll find some mystery/thrillers on the list and some that are like a fall Hallmark movie. I’ve even included a good autumn devotional!
Check out my list and if you read any of them, let me know what you think. I love to get feedback on my book reading selections!

Happy Fall Kim,
I am sure that the person from the Ukraine found a lot of joy and happiness from visiting your blog, and some hope for brighter days ahead.
It’s hot here too so it doesn’t feel much like fall. Hopefully soon.
That wreath is GORGEOUS! I would love to make one of those.
Wendy, 3 ingredients cookies look delicious.
Have a very happy Fall and a wonderful week.

Maybe we will both get cooler weather this coming week! Hope you have a great one, Elizabeth!
Hi Kim, I love your anecdote about the person from the Ukraine reading your blog. I’m sure your blog did make someone smile! This is such a big part of why we do what we do. Thank you for making me smile!

Kim, I love the features you’ve shared and that fall wreath!… Stunning!!! I just noticed our local church just set out their pumkins for sale this weekend. Need to definitely go there this week before the ones I want run out. 😉
Happy fall and I’m celebrating once we get down to 80 degree days. Was 100 outside yesterday, ugh! 🙁 Only 88 today, which was much better.
See you in tomorrow’s Pinterest Challenge! (Came over to check out if you had anything pre-posted that I could look at to finish writing up.
Fall hugs,
