Happy Sunday, my friends! I’m glad you’re joining me again for my weekly Mitten Moments! Welcome to my new friends! I’m excited to share my Mitten Moments with you. Every week, I highlight a few exceptional moments from my own life and from the social media accounts of some of my friends.
Whether it’s an amazing DIY, a heartwarming gesture, or a beautiful table setting, I want to celebrate the good things in life. I hope you’ll join me on this journey!

Have you adjusted to the shorter days? I’m going to be honest, I have not. I feel as though I’m already going into the winter hibernation mode. PJ’s by 7:30 and hitting the recliner by 8! I’m either getting old or still adjusting…what do you think?
My Personal Mitten Moments
- Do you ever stop and enjoy the little moments? I mean just let everything go and immerse yourself? Earlier this week, I did just that when playing outside with my oldest grand. She wanted to make a leaf pile; two as a matter of fact. One for me and one for her. She was wearing her white princess dress and honestly, I didn’t care if it got dirty. Dirt washes, right? An hour of joy, a memory to last forever!

- Have you read All the Light We Cannot See? The book is set during World War II and centers around the characters Marie-Laure LeBlanc and Werner Pfennig. Marie-Laure is a blind French girl who takes refuge in her uncle’s house, after Paris is raided by the Germans, and Werner Pfennig, is a talented German boy who has been accepted into military school because of his amazing skills in radio technology. It’s a book that has won the Pulitzer Prize and is exceptionally well-written, but it does happen to be quite lengthy! I’m presently re-reading it in preparation for the movie adaptation, set to premiere on Netflix on November 2nd.

Have you decorated your porch for fall? If not, this past week I shared how to create a warm and inviting autumn sanctuary right at your doorstep. If you missed it, check out my post Fall Porch Decorating Ideas with Mums and Pumpkins.
Prepare yourself, it’s an explosion of color!

Speaking of fall porches, I shared the easiest fall DIY that is perfect for your autumn decor. How to Make a Fall Mum Pumpkin Planter on a Budget, discusses choosing the right pumpkin and mum, and how to prepare the pumpkin. It also provides step-by-step instructions for planting the mum in the pumpkin.
Let me know if you try it!

A Few Of My Favorite Moments
My first share this week features a blogger I recently discovered. She’s also a former Michigander! Sarah from Broma shared Apple Fritter Bread and doesn’t it look amazing?!
This is on my fall baking list, for sure!

I’m all about foraging items for home decor and craft projects. Who doesn’t like to save money? My good friend, Rachel from The Ponds Farmhouse, shared How to Make a Foraged Oak Leaves Wreath for Fall the Easy Way and gosh, it is so pretty!

Here in the Mitten, we have been known to have some really warm days well into October. Depending on where you live, I’m sure there are still some warm days to be had, so why not set a pretty table and dine outdoors?
My friend Molly from Molly in Maine showed how to create An Outdoor Harvest Table Set With Fall’s Bounty. Isn’t she beautiful?!

Thank you my friend for sharing my chocolate chip cookie recipe. Brooke looks so adorable sitting in the leaves. Those precious memories being created with her. It reminds me of when our children were little. Such sweet memories!
Yes, the best memories!
Hi Kim! Your granddaughter looks so cute in her princess dress sitting in the leaf pile! And I love your front steps dressed for fall! So happy! Thank you so much for sharing my fall table. I had a lot of fun pulling it together with produce from the farm stand! Have a great week!
You’re welcome, Molly! Always happy to share!
Oh my goodness, Kim, that picture of your grandaughter is breathtaking. It also brought back beautiful memories of living in Pennsylvania. We had a leaf catcher, and I pushed it and collected all the leaves. My dad would come out, and I was making a pile of leaves with what I had collected and jumping in it. Thank you for taking me back to my childhood. And can you teach me to take time to read? This book sounds fantastic. And a big thank you for sharing my pillow post.
Kim, your granddaughter is so sweet. I love that photo. Enjoy every minute, they grow so fast.
I always discover so many wonderful things and links and quotes on Mitten moments. Thank you for sharing and have a fabulous week.
Thanks so much, Elizabeth! You are always so kind and encouraging! Have a wonderful day!
