Welcome to another Sunday in the Mitten! Every week, I celebrate some of my moments and some of those from my friends. Grab your favorite morning beverage and settle in for a fresh batch of Mitten Moments, where you’ll discover hidden gems, cozy experiences, and heartwarming stories!
I’m going to be watching the Detroit Lions with friends today, and I’m wearing all my Honolulu blue! Our home team has never appeared in a Super Bowl, so fingers crossed they get the win and make their way to their first one!

My Personal Mitten Moments
- Multiple times this week, I came across the term Hurkle-durkle. Maybe I’m living under a rock, but I have never heard the term. Have you? Anyway, it’s a Danish expression that means to “to lie in bed or lounge about when one should be up and about”. I don’t know about you, but I am definitely here for it! I’d like a little more lounging!
- I’m a Marshall’s kind of gal. On my recent trip, I found the best artwork for an incredible price! This captivating image is none other than The Girl with The Pearl Earring by Dutch Golden Age painter Johannes Vermeer (1632-1675). It is regarded as Vermeer’s masterpiece and this painting is often referred to as the Dutch Mona Lisa. I spent part of the weekend finally deciding where I am going to place her. Isn’t she beautiful?

My love for yarn started with crochet lessons from my mom, when I was a little girl. Years of crafting with various types of yarn led to this delightful DIY Pom Pom Heart Wreath for Valentine’s Day. Pink and white yarn spun into playful pom poms to bring joy to your Valentine season.

In honor of the upcoming Hallmark holiday, I shared some of my favorite Valentine’s Day items. You can see them all here.
How about that beautiful tulip wreath!?

It’s hard to believe, but February arrives later this week. Do you think the groundhog will see his shadow? I’m hoping for an early spring, as I’m sure many of you are. Shadow or not, make it an amazing week, my friends!

It was a very sad loss for the Lions! There’s hope for next year!
Love those pink glasses! I just bought some glasses at the dollar store that I needed for our late Christmas celebration. Specifically, I needed them from mimosas and they were perfect!!
I love the pink glasses, too! The dollar store is a great resource for stuff like that!
