Happy Sunday, friends! Welcome to another addition of my Mitten Moments. Before you start your day, stop on by the cottage and see all the goodness waiting for you!
My Personal Moments
- I just pre-ordered my next book to read. Swan Song by Elin Hilderbrand is the latest in her bestselling novels set on the beautiful and timeless island of Nantucket. I am a fan of her other books and can’t wait to get my hands on this one, later this month!

- I’m so excited! We finally got the cattle fence in our garden! It’s 15 ft. long and really hard to believe we were able to bend in enough to get it into our truck, but we did! Big Al and two of our sons set it in the garden. Looking forward to seeing it covered in beans. I’ll be sharing more of the garden, so stay tuned!

- I recently found out that there is going to be a “Brat Pack” documentary coming out on Hulu, June 13th. If you aren’t sure who they are, the Brat Pack, was a group of young actors who basically dominated teen movies in the 1980s. Think films like “The Breakfast Club,” “St. Elmo’s Fire,” and “Pretty in Pink.” It is directed by one of the Brat Pack himself, Andrew McCarthy. I was a fan of most all the movies and you now know where you can find me on June 13th!

Recently on the Blog
I was under the weather, this past week, and therefore didn’t produce any new content or my Mitten Moments, last Sunday. Below are a couple of my more recent posts.
We recently took a long weekend and went to Key West, Florida. I’ve been to Florida plenty of time but never to Key West. While we were there, we took the tour at Ernest Hemingway’s home and museum. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. If you love books, history AND cats and you travel to Key West, it’s a must see. You will not be disappointed!

Last week, I shared a simple red, white and blue tablescape for Memorial Day! If you are still in need of ideas for a patriotic table setting for the upcoming July 4th holiday, you can check out How to Create an Easy Patriotic Tablescape.

A Few of My Favorite Moments
Do use cake stands? I like to use them for special occasions and also have one with a glass dome. I think they make any dessert look special. My friend, Stephanie from Returning Grace shared an Easy DIY Cake Plate Stand. This is a simple and pretty DIY and who doesn’t love that!

I love a good devotional and there’s nothing better than a FREE devotional! Heidi Lee Anderson has a FREE 4-day challenge entitled Faith Over Everything Challenge. I think everyone could use a little help with faith over fear and all the other things!

Here in the Mitten, we are heading into the hotest time of the year. On the hot days, there’s nothing more refreshing than a cold drink. Heidi from Eleanor Rose Home shared a Cucumber Lemon Mint Water recipe.
Easy to make and refreshing!

And Now…
Here are some other WONDERFUL moments I found:
This arch basket decor for a summer-ready she shed
These thrift store vase makeovers
These tips for transitioning your home from spring to summer
This avocado corn tomato salad
Mitten Moments
That’s all the moments for this week!
I hope your day, and the coming week, is full of special moments!

Thanks for the post. Can’t wait to see how the new garden fencing looks once the beans start to climb. Hope you’re feeling better soon.
Thank you, Carol! I’ll be sure to share updates. I can’t wait to see the fence covered!
Cannot wait to see fence full of beans growing. Good to have summer book choices. Love the links. Found a great yard and garden tool organizer!
Me too! So glad the links are helpful! Have the best day!
Kim, I cannot wait to see this cattle fence covered in beans! We do not have a garden, too many deer and rabbits and we are not allowed to fence the yard because we are on a golf course…long story short. After the deer ate all of my sweet potatoes and then came to the door and ate all of the tomatoes plants to lip of the posts they were in I gave up. I will live vicariously through you!
I can’t wait to see it, too! I’ll be sure to share pictures along the way! Have the best day!
