Mitten Moments

Happy sunshiny day from the Mitten! It’s Sunday, which means it’s time to relax and recharge, at least it does for me! Grab your favorite afternoon beverage and let’s start with some Mitten Moments!

My zinnia’s are finally starting to bloom and I couldn’t be happier about it! I’m still patiently waiting on my Queen Lime zinnias, but I know they will be worth the wait! Do you grow cut flowers in your garden?

My Personal Moments

  • It’s been a fun weekend with family and friends! We had an absolutely beautiful family wedding on Friday. It was followed-up by an after party, pool party, on Saturday. For me, there is nothing better than being with family and friends, especially when you are celebrating a special occasion! Just FYI…I love the photo booths that are popping up at all the weddings! They are so much fun!
  • It’s time for the summer Olympics! Did you watch the opening ceremony? I missed it, but caught the women’s mountain biking this morning. Geez…now that’s some endurance! I’m just happy I can still take a casual bike ride with Big Al. I was a snychronized swimmer, for a brief moment in time, so I’ll be looking forward to that!
  • I used to love painting furniture but haven’t in quite sometime. Did you happen to see my pink dresser that I painted for my She Room? It’s one of my all time favorite pieces. Anyway, I am getting ready to paint a side table for my grandaughters’ bedroom, here at the Cottage. I can’t wait to share it! Can you guess what color it will be?

My Favorite Weekly Find

I bought this as a gift for my son’s home. He needed a chair for his living room and his bedroom. This Mid-Century Modern Faux Leather Chair is the perfect addition and has a great price point! It’s comfy and can be moved to use in either space, within his home.

Did you see my post on My Summer Garden Progress? I thought it would be fun to share how we started and where the garden is today. Overall, we’ve had huge success this gardening season and I’m so grateful. However, we have had a challenge or two, along the way.

You won’t want to miss it! I may have a good tip for your gardening adventures, too!

A Few of My Favorite Moments

Throw pillows are a mainstay in every room of my home. The more the merrier! That’s why I absolutely love my next share. Rachel from The Ponds Farmhouse made this Beautiful Sunflower Pillow: Easy No-Sew Project with Scrap Fabrics.

How pretty is that?!

The grill is definitely a favorite for Big Al and I in the summertime. You don’t have to heat up the house and all the mess is left outside. I’m always looking for other grill recipes and that’s why I can’t wait to try my next feature! My friends, AnnMarie and Anne from Simply 2 Moms shared Irresistible Sweet and Smokey Grilled Sweet Potatoes.

Don’t they look delish?!
