Since adding blue to my decor earlier this year, I’ve been searching for the best accent color to use with blue and white this fall. Have you seen the beautiful blue and orange color combo that is being used?
I am loving it!
With all the beautiful colors that fall brings, it’s a great time to change up your home decor with some fall color! Even if you don’t use blue and white in your decor, orange is still a great accent color for fall.
Just because I’m going to share some of my great orange finds, doesn’t mean I won’t be sharing some blue and white too!

Can You Mix And Match Blues?
Before I show you all the beautiful fall items I found, I wanted to address a question I have been asked several times over the last few months. Some of you have asked when decorating with blue, can you mix different shades of blue? The answer for me is yes!
The blues don’t have to be matchy-matchy, they just need to flow. I have to admit, mixing and matching blues, into my decor, has been a fun process.
Pillows & Pillow Covers
Changing out your throw pillows is the best way to make an immediate change.
I have a million throw pillows…well, maybe not a million, but let’s just say I have a large variety in my storage room.
Anyone else a throw pillow junkie?
Just like most people, I love catching a good bargain when shopping for certain decor items and pillows are definitely one of those items. Since I rotate them out, each season, it’s important to me that I don’t spend a fortune every time I buy new ones.
“I loved autumn, the season of the year that God seemed to have put there just for the beauty of it.” – Lee Maynard
My motto is spending money on some of the really well made pillows that you can use in any season. They will be used more frequently, therefore, you’ll find the extra buck you spent will be well worth it, in the long run.
This Culver Grainsack Striped Reversible Pillow Covers from Pottery Barn are a must have! It comes in two colors of blue and the perfect color of apricot. They are currently on sale for $22.99 each. That’s a steal!
I love grainsack cloth and use it often for the backing on my cottage blankets. Grainsack has that old fashion, cozy feel to it.
Here are some of my other favorites. They all have amazing price points too!
1.) Society 6 – Vintage Woven Navy and Orange Throw Pillow
2.) Fancy Homi – 2 Pack Pillow Covers
3.) Woven Pumpkin Square Throw Pillow
How about those cute pompoms? You’ll definitely see those in my upcoming home tour!
Favorite Throw Blankets
Every single room in my home has at least one throw blanket in it.
You will find them on a chair, sofa, bed, or blanket rack. I have even been known to hang them over the staircase railing too.
Throw blankets add an element of warmth to any space.
This Battilo Home Burnt Orange blanket is beautiful! It’s the perfect color orange to add to your blue and white decor for fall and it’s super afforable too!
Below is the rest of my throw blanket favorites!
1.) Striped Throw Blanket -Dark Blue
2.) Cable Knit Throw Blanket – Rizzi Home
3.) Saro Lifestyle Buffalo Plaid Throw
If you live in an area where it’s warm all the time, or you don’t have access to gathering fall foilage outside, buying and using faux branches or flowers are just as good!
They make so many great options these days and honestly, there are plenty that look very realistic.
My favorites are these Fall Eucalyptus stems. They’re so pretty! The have perfect fall colors and would look great in any vessel you chose.
I used these last year in my fall home tour and you can bet I plan on using them again, just in a different space.
Check out my other faux finds!
1.) Artificial Berry Stems w/Orange Pumpkins
2.) Artificial Pomegranate Branches Fake Greenery
3.) Artificial Maple Leaf Branches
Everyone needs a vessel to display their fall branches and flowers arrangements in. Here are three vases that will to do just that.
1.) Distressed Ceramic Vase for Hearth & Hand. It’s neutral and can be used in any season.
2.) Blue Crosshatch Triple Handle Vase.
3.) Ceramic Harvest Handled Vase
Any one of these vases would look really good with your blue and white decor this coming season. However, I think you could use these particular vases in any season.
Rugs play a substainal role in the decor of your space. They help reinforce the colors of your room.
I’m not sure about you, but I don’t change my rugs too often. Nonetheless, I do try to rotate between rugs I’ve acquired a couple of times a year. I make the change at the beginning of spring/summer and then again at fall/winter.
Celebrate a change this fall/winter season with one of these pretty rugs!
1.) nuLoom Sawyer Flourishing Rug
2.) Renita Rug Gray/Blue – Safavieh
3.) Modern Persian Boho Vintage – Jonathan Y

Hello, just want you to know how much I look forward to your emails.
I have an ocean blue couch and love seat . Lots of neutral gray color in my living room. Live the pillow choices you showed . My trouble is 2 of the same pillows or 1 or 2 different ones….?
Thank you so much! That is so kind of you and I’m glad you enjoy my posts. The orange ones with the ball tassels are pillow covers and come in sets of two! Maybe that will help your decision. Have a nice day!

What a beautiful post. Pillows are such a great accent. The orange and blue is perfect for fall. I have started a collection myself.
I also love dried sticks and flowers, lavender, eucalyptus. Since I do not keep many live plants anymore, they are still cheerful.
Love the rugs, excited to pick out some new ones for my new hardwood floors.
Thank you, Tina! I can’t wait to see your new home! xo

Thank you for sharing this, Kim. I have a blue and white colour scheme and always wonder about adding warm colours for fall. Not a huge fan of orange but can live with it for a few months.
Thanks for stopping by Carol! Hope you are well!
