DIY Patriotic Flower Pot: Easy & Festive for July 4th!

Cottage in the Mitten

Are you ready for the big 4th of July weekend? I'm sharing my simple project on how to create an easy patriotic flower pot. You still have plenty of time to create it before the holiday!

Supplies List

– Container – Potting mix – Flowers in red, white, and blue colors (e.g., geraniums, white impatients, blue verbena) – Ribbon (red, white, or blue) – Flags

Pick A Container

I used a large galvanized bucket that I thrifted for this project. If you don’t have one you can use any pot or vessel you have. Then fill it 3/4 full with potting mix.

Red, White & Blue Flowers

I chose white impatients and some cute verbena – blue flare, and red geraniums.

Add the largest flower to your container first, then add the remaining flowers.

After your flowers are potted, add some patriotic flare. I added a red gauze ribbon and two American flags. The perfect touch!

This is a simple way to make a great statement piece for the 4th of July.  You can remove the flags and ribbon and use it outside on your porch or patio for the rest of the summer!
