DIY Stars & Stripes Rag Wreath

Cottage in the Mitten

Welcome guests and showcase your patriotic spirit with a charming DIY rag wreath. This project is perfect for anyone – you don't need fancy supplies or sewing skills.

Gather Your Supplies!

– Wire wreath frame (round or heart shaped) 14 inch – Red, white, and blue fabric (preferably cotton or muslin) – Scissors – Twine or ribbon (if you chose to hang)

Cut Up the Fabric

Give your wreath a unique, rustic charm! I used strips of fabric that were 1.5 inches wide and 8 inches long.

Add all the red and white ticking first, leaving a large enough space for the blue and white stars.

Now for the fun part! Secure your fabric strips to the wire wreath frame by simply tying them in knots.

Filling Out Your Wreath

Once all your strips of fabric are cut you are ready to loop them around the wire frame. You can use any kind of knot you prefer for this project.

You did it! Continue tying fabric strips until your wreath is full and vibrant. Add more strips if needed to create a thicker and fluffier look.
