Living in Michigan, we’re lucky to experience the beauty of all seasons. However, fall has always been one of my favorites. The colorful leaves, cooler temperatures and the cozy vibes of home really speak to me, making it such a special time of year. Afterall, I really am a homebody at heart! Have you ever wondered why so many people love fall? Maybe it’s the feeling of slowing down, or maybe the fact that pumpkin spice everything is in season. Whatever the reason, I thought it would be fun to share some simple joys of the coziest time of year!

The Magic of Fall
I can’t speak for any other parts of the country, but here in Michigan, fall is truly a magically season. It’s a time to slow down from all the hustle and bustle of summer, and enjoy all the beautiful variety of colors that the autumn season provides. And let me tell you, a good bowl of chili and an apple crisp just hits differently in fall! Magic is an understatement, when you step back and take it all in!
The Beauty of the Season
The vibrant colors of orange, gold, and red are a big reason I love fall! Leaf piles and the smell of crunching leaves all hold their own beauty and remind me of seasons past. In the Mitten, it’s the perfect time to take a drive looking for colors or simply enjoy the view from your front porch!
Cozy Comforts at Home
Fall is the beginning of the cozy season here. Cozy and home just seem to go hand and hand, right? I don’t know anyone who doesn’t enjoy a little time at home with a favorite throw, and of course if you’re lucky, a warm fire. In my world, it’s also the perfect time to curl up with a good book! The Flavors of Fall
Pumpkin spice and everything nice! Isn’t that how the saying goes? One of the best parts of the season is the return of all the fall flavors. From warm apple cider and cider mill donuts, pumpkin treats, the aroma of cinnamon candles, and simmer pots fill our homes. These fall flavors and sweet treats bring a sense of nostalgia and remind us to savor the season one sense at a time!

Next to my faith, the most important thing in my life are my family and friends. For me, if you have family and friends you are abundantly rich! Creative Moments and Crafting Time
I know I share crafts and projects all the time, but when fall arrives it’s when my big crafting season really starts. The slower pace and cooler days motivates me to pick up projects I set aside all summer. There’s something especially rewarding about creating with your own hands as the days grow shorter.
From my blanket making, crocheting to DIY home projects, they all seem to come together during the fall and winter months. I also enjoy foraging for acorns, pinecones and branches to use in simple fall or Christmas home decor projects. You can see some DIY pinecone projects here.
