How to Make an Easy Fall Lantern

Cottage in the Mitten

Fall is a beautiful time of year, and it's the perfect time to get creative with your home decor. One easy and festive way to decorate for fall is to make your own lantern. I'll show you how to make your own lantern with just a few supplies.

Gather Your Supplies

– Black and white ribbon – Faux sunflowers – Lantern – Candle

You can use sunflowers in your summer decor and they are also the perfect flower to use leading into the fall season.

Step One

Cut your flowers from the bunch. You want to cut them long enough to wind the stem around the top or side of your lantern.

Step Two

Next, cut your ribbon. I suggest cutting a sample piece first to make sure it’s the length you need based on the height of your lantern. Mine was 19 inches.

Step Three

Last step, is to add a candle to the inside of your lantern.

Place Napkin Strips

If you don’t want to use a candle in your lantern, you can use a gourd, pumpkin, twinkle lights, pinecones or acorns.

Making your own fall lantern is a fun and easy way to add a touch of autumn to your home. With a few simple materials, you can create a beautiful and festive centerpiece that will add to the ambiance of your home.
