Spring is officially arriving this week and I couldn’t be happier to welcome it into my Mitten home! Today I’m giving you a peek inside my cottage home and sharing how I’ve decorated a few things for the season. From my spring tablescape to some simple spring touches throughout the house, I hope this inspires you to embrace spring and a little color and charm into your home!

Welcome Spring at the Front Door
I love using color in my home and that starts with the welcome you receive at my front door. Color makes me feel cheerful and that’s exactly how I want you to feel when you enter my home!
Around here, spring officially begins when the wreaths go up! I have two doors that face the street, and of course, I have to decorate them both. This season, one door is adorned with a bright, joyful floral wreath that sets a colorful welcoming tone. The wreath is new this season and totally worth every penny! It’s large, vibrant and a show stopper.
The second door features a white forsythia wreath with a large pink bow. It’s simple yet, so pretty against the door and the green exterior of my home. Both wreaths are faux which means they will last all through the spring and summer seasons with zero maintenance. I’m especially here for the zero maintenance. I’ve got warm weather to enjoy!

A Simple & Charming Spring Table
It’s my belief, that setting a pretty table doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive and this spring table is proof! I’m a big believer in using what you have and that’s exactly what I’ve done.
I started with a cream table runner and then added some round braided placemats. I couldn’t find the exact ones that I have, so I linked some that are very similar.
Then I added my favorite Martha Stewart basketweave dishes. I felt the basketweave pattern was the perfect set to use for a spring or Easter table setting. These dishes are inexpensive yet look high-end. They can be used for any occasion which is a plus when searching for new dinnerware. If you are looking for something new, these are definitely the best bang for your buck! Next, I added my new gold flatware from Better Homes and Garden. Looks expensive but has just the right budget! The pink embossed glassware are one of my favorite details on the table. They add the perfect touch for spring.

Once I set the table, I added a few finishing touches. A pink and yellow felt garland draped along the table runner pulls all the spring colors together perfectly. For the centerpiece, I went for simplicity. I filled a white pitcher with faux spring branches and lambs ear. At each place setting, I added my DIY mini clay pots filled with moss and chocolate candy Easter eggs. It adds just the right spring touch to the table and they couldn’t be easier to make. Pro Tip
Stacking books is one of the easiest and most budget-friendly ways to had height and interest to any vignette. They don’t have to be decorator books either. Any large hardcover books will work great! Simply switch out the accents on top each season for a whole new look.
Little Touches of Spring
Sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest difference. A few simple touches are all it takes to bring spring inside. I know this, because my granddaughter’s notice those little touches right away!
Fresh blooms are always my go-to for a fresh pop of color. I bought the prettiest and affordable pink flowers from Trader Joes. I added a small moss bunny for some added Easter charm without being overdone.
Some of my favorite pretty home decor books creates the perfect riser for a fabric carrot and another moss bunny. My rattlesnake plant in it’s burlap basket adds just the right amount of greenery to pull the whole look together. It’s simple, personal, and it didn’t cost a thing, just a few items I already had styled in a fresh new way.
