Spring Wreath Style Guide: Finding the Perfect Fit for Your Home
I love a wreath on my door, or should I say doors. There are three exterior doors on my home, and of course, each one needs to be dressed for the season. I found the best budget friendly wreaths for spring and I knew I just had to share them with you!
The standard door measures 36 inches wide. When choosing a wreath for your door make sure it is no smaller than 20 inches wide, leaving 8 inches on either side. Some designers say it looks best to use a wreath that is 24-36 inches wide. Depending on the size of the space, I have used wreaths that were 20 inches wide and they look just as good! However, 24 inches and bigger will really draw attention to your door!
When hanging your wreath, a good rule is to make sure you hang it about 14 inches from the top of the door.

The above wreath is one I used last year in my Bright Cottage in the Mitten Summer Patio. This grapevine wreath originally only had lemons on it. The second year I used it, I added peonies and the black and white ribbon.

Pretty & Practical: Budget-Friendly Spring Wreath
For the last three years, I have used the same wreaths for spring and summer. I mix and match what I have, update the ribbons, and move them around from door to door. Like I said earlier, I have three exterior doors, two that you can see from the front of my home. Therefore, it’s important to me that they coordinate.
I’m in the market for new wreaths and I found some really affordable options. I believe you’ll think so too!

Baskets & Swags: Unique Spring Decor Ideas
Another option besides a round wreath for your door is an arrangement created in a basket or a swag. These are sometimes less expensive and are a great change from your typical circular wreath.

Easy Ways to Hang Your Spring Wreath
I typically hang my wreaths one of two ways.
- An over-the-door wreath hanger
- Ribbon
Using a pretty ribbon can dress up a wreath that may be a little plain.
If you don’t currently have a wreath hanger or any extra ribbon laying around, no worries! Most dollar stores will have both items and it won’t cost you an arm and a leg. I have also added some tips below for alternative hanging!
