Do you easily get bored or tired of a space in your home? Seems like I always feel the need to rearrange or change up my home throughout the seasons. I’m not talking about a huge change like buying new furniture. Just those small simple ways that make you smile. I’m making some changes to our main living area in anticipation of spring. Today I am going to share five easy ways to refresh your space.
So come on in! I can’t wait to share.

A Color Scheme to Refresh Your Space
First, I always like to pick a color palette or theme to refresh my space. Currently, my walls are Anew Gray by Sherwin Williams and my furniture and drapes are also shades of gray.
Gray.
There’s a lot of it, so I need pops of color to brighten up the space. For this girl who loves color it’s a necessity!
If you can’t afford to buy new but need a change, see what color of accessories you’ve put away in your storage bins or linen closet. You can definitely make changes with items you’ve used before.
I am loving all the pretty shades of blue right now! Did you know blue is one of the colors trending for 2022? I’ve decided to refresh my home this spring with blues, and I couldn’t be happier about it!
Blue is bright, cheerful and the good mood color of the sky, on a pretty day!
I’ll be sharing it all with you on my Spring Home Tour, next month! So stayed tuned for that.
If you’ve been here before you probably already know the following fact. When you walk into our home it is literally one giant room.
Yes, its true…the foyer, kitchen, eating area and living room are all in one square space. Not one single dividing wall which means everything needs to coordinate. The space is great for entertaining but you always have to keep it super clean.
Nowhere to hide any messes here!
Furniture Movement
Do you ever rearrange your furniture?
One of the easiest changes you can make is moving your existing furniture around.
In my house, I don’t have a ton of options. However, just making one or two moves can freshen the space up. Even swapping out an accent chair from one room into another can make a big impact.
If you didn’t know, I also paint furniture. Needless to say, I have a stash of painted accessories, tables, chairs etc. I keep most the items I paint neutral, except for that pretty pink milk painted dresser I completed last year. When you have neutral pieces they can usually be moved to any room, within your house.
This chair is another example of my neutral pieces.
Just another idea for you!

Pillows & Throws To Refresh Your Space
Now that you have your furniture in place, give those pieces a little dress-up!
Adding new pillows or a pretty throw is the perfect touch when refreshing your space. I said “new” but like I said earlier, it doesn’t have to be. How many of us have a pillow/throw stash? I know I would be the first to raise my hand!
Changing these items out seasonally even if they are items we have previously used makes things seem new. It’s just like when we change our wardrobes out from season to season. Sometimes we get excited because we see something that we forgot we even had!
Refresh Your Artwork Or Wall Decor
For most of us, artwork or wall decor is a great way to add interest or change to the rooms in our home. I would say knowing how to hang or arrange it can be the trickest part.
Some inexpensive options for change could be wreaths, a family photo collage, mirrors and framed printables.
For my Spring refresh I have decided to stack framed prints in two areas of my home. I have enough height and found four of the most perfect coordinating prints on Etsy.
Can I share the most amazing deal with you?
I knew you’d say yes! Who doesn’t love a great deal?
I purchased the prints from the Patent Print Store on Etsy. They are these lovely birds pictured below and a coordinating set. I puchased the prints for $28 per pair, which did not include frames. While looking for frames online, I came acrossed these same prints framed at Pottery Barn.
Guess how much they were at Pottery Barn?
$549…Yes, you read that right. $549.
I told you I got an amazing deal.
Flowers And Plants
My last suggestion for a quick refresh is to add flowers and plants.
I love having fresh flowers all year long. You can usually find them inexpensively at your local grocery store. If you have a Trader Joes near by, you definitely need to go there. They always have a great selection of flowers and plants and the price point is amazing.
I also have a container full of faux flowers. Honestly, faux has come a long way and there are some great choices available. Either option is perfect for bringing a little cheer into any room.
Switching up your floral pots and containers will give your space a new look too.

I hope you’ve liked my five easy ways to refresh a space.

Wonderful ideas and inspiration, Kim! I’m always open to welcoming more blues into the house. Can there ever be too much?! Your yellow and white stripe vase is fabulous. Swoon. xo

Thanks, friend! Aren’t they so fun?! I can’t wait to hang them!
Kim,
Those are some great ideas for freshening up your space. I did something similar in my bedroom recently when I got new white furniture. The pictures on the wall just didn’t seem to do it justice. So I moved a painting that I had in my living room into my bedroom which was all done in yellows blues and white. I ended up picking up new pillows in yellow, blue and white for the bed and with the white comforter everything is all tied in together. Now all I need is that blue and white rug lol I love that one.
I can’t wait to see it! The blue and white rugs I linked are so reasonably priced! Make sure to check them out! xo
You’ve always been a great inspiration in decorating ideas! I love blue too! Ready to pull out some spring items to freshen up
Awe, thank you so much Barb! xo It always feels so good to change things up!
So many lovely details. I love those prints. What a steal.
They were such a great deal! Have a great week, Renae!
You got such a steal on the artwork!! I bet you were thrilled when you saw the Pottery Barn price tags!
Most definitely! Now to get them all hung!
Thank you for inspiring me once again Kim! I needed it! I think it may have to be a pale yellow for me at my house. Wish me luck!
I love yellow! I’m sure it will look beautiful!
I love all of the blue, Kim. We have a lot of white and gray walls in our home and I’ve been thinking about ways to add more blue accents. Keeping the post in mind for reference when I’m ready to do some shopping!
Thanks Jen! I think blue will be an easy add with the white and gray. Have a great weekend!
Such great ideas for a spring refresh! I am loving all things blue too! Thank you so much for sharing for Tuesday Turn About!
Thank you, Lynne! Blue is so cheerful!
