Friends, it’s Sunday and that means it’s time for my Mitten Moments! If you’re new here, Mitten Moments are all the good moments I shared and some that I found over the last week. So grab a cup of your favorite, sit back and check out all the goodness I have waiting for you!
It has been a few weeks since I shared my moments. I had the flu and was in bed for five days straight. My son, daughter-in-law and all my granddaughters had it, too! After recovering from that, we found out one of our sweet dogs may have mouth cancer. So, it’s been a couple of hard weeks. But everyone is healthy, I’m back and ready to share!
My Personal Moments
- We’ve had crazy weather the last couple of weeks. We go from 70’s and sunny one day to 30’s and snow the next. A 40 degree change! Regardless, the calendar says spring and my daffodils and tulips agree.

- We celebrated our middle son’s 30th birthday! It was such a wonderful day spent with family and friends, and of course, lots of good food!

- We’re in full swing March Madness here at the cottage! Michigan had a great win last night and they’ve made it to the sweet sixteen! Are you a basketball fan? A little secret, I only watch during March Madness.
- I just bought two new books by Tess Gerritsen! The second in the series just came out and it looked so good. Having not read the first one, I bought them both. The first in the series is called The Spy Coast and her second book is The Summer Guests. The lead character is Maggie Bird who happens to be a former spy. She lives in the seemingly peaceful seaside town of Purity, Maine. This idyllic location is also home to a group of retired CIA operatives, known as the “Martini Club,” who are trying to live quiet, anonymous lives. But of course things are not quiet! I can’t wait to dive into these.

My Favorite Weekly Find
I’ll be taking a trip to Washington, in a few weeks, to check out all the beautiful cherry blossoms. I’ll be doing some site seeing, too. I needed a new spring jacket and ordered a few to pick from. This one was the winner! It’s lightweight, has a hood, which is perfect in case it rains. If you’re in the market for a new spring jacket, this is it!

Kim, I’m so sorry you were sick. We had the flu here at our house too. It knocked me out for about 2 weeks. It was extra nasty this year. I’m so glad you are on the mend!
