Mitten Moments

Happy Sunday friends! We’ve had a string of wonderful weather! Even though it’s still officially spring, summer seems to be in full swing here at the cottage! I have so much good stuff to share this week. I’ve been soaking up every bit of this warm season and I can’t wait to catch you up!

Hi, I’m Kim! Mitten Moments is my weekly series where I pull back life here at the Cottage. Each week, I share a peek into my week, what’s happening around the cottage, seasonal inspiration and a few favorite finds and links. It’s like a cup of tea with a good friend!

My Personal Moments

  • Two of our precious grand “babies” turned four last week. I was kindly reminded by one of them, “We aren’t babies anymore, Mimi!” No, I guess they aren’t, but in my heart they are. They had a perfect mermaid themed celebration!
  • There’s a new book on my to read list. It’s a Jenna Bush Hager book pick. The Children by Melissa Albert hits shelves this week and it’s already in my Amazon cart! This is the debut adult novel from New York Times bestselling author Melissa Albert. It follows Guinevere Sharpe who grew up with two very different childhoods, the one she actually lived, and the magical one her mother wrote her into for the world to adore. When unsettling memories from her past begin to surface, Guinevere is forced to confront the questions she’s spent twenty years running from — including what really happened the night of the fire. The reviews say it is dark, atmospheric, and completely absorbing. I can’t wait to read it!
  • Big news around the cottage this morning. My first peony of the season bloomed and it made my whole day! One thing that has been a total game changer this year is using peony rings. If you’ve ever had your peonies flop over from the weight of those gorgeous blooms, these are the answer. Grab the ones I used HERE.
