Embrace Natural Light
Forget expensive renovations or trendy light fixtures. Don’t underestimate the power of windows in your home. They will help you embrace natural light and feel the shift from drab to vibrant, sluggish to energized. In my opinion, there is nothing better than sunshine and bright light coming through my windows. It’s a definite mood-lifter! This is a no cost change and who doesn’t love that!

The view above is my she room. It’s the place a spend a lot of time. I moved the chase in front of the window so when I’m reading, writing or creating, I can take in all the light.

Comfy and Cozy Tips

Bring Nature Indoors
After a long plant pause in my life, I added a few real plants into my home last year. For many years, I was a dedicated faux plant and dried flower girl. I think the commitment and fear of killing a plant held me back. Can you relate? I finally took the plunge and introduced a few real plants into my home. Let me tell you, it was a game changer for my winter mood!
If you’ve never owned real plants, do your homework and pick something that is easy to care for. My favorite is the rattle snake plant. I also use faux stems, dried flowers, and various fruits as decor, depending on the season.
Using nature inspired art is another great way to bring the outdoors inside. Have a happy photo you’ve snapped from a recent vacation? Print it and frame it in one of your favorite frames. If you don’t have your own photos to use, there are plenty of free artwork sites to explore.
Create a Gallery Wall
If you have multiple pictures you’d like to use, why not create a gallery wall. Frame your own photographs alongside vintage botanical prints, or even a shadow box with foraged items.
Add Your Personal Touch
I believe, it’s important that the place you call home be a reflection of you and the things you love or treasure. Sure, there are some amazing design trends to follow, but it’s important to be true to what you really love and enjoy before making a purchase. From your favorite books, to special photos and DIY’s, make sure to add them to your home decor intentionally.

I definitely get tired of looking at the same thing over and over. I suggest occasionally switching seasonal decor to avoid visual fatigue.
