Happy Sunday friends! It’s been a busy couple of weeks. I’m soaking up all the remaining days of summer with my family and friends. August is a month of hurrying to make those last minute summer memories before the transition to fall happens. This year feels especially big, my grands will all be in school for the first time, so it will be a big change for this Mimi! While you’re still enjoying the warm days and making precious memories, take a minute to come meet me at the Cottage. I’ve got some goodness waiting for you in this week’s Mitten Moments.

August… brings katydids, elderberries, blackberry pie, and goldenrod… August is just another thirty-one days of concentrated Summer, but it certainly gets one in condition to appreciate Fall when it comes. Good old August — we’ll take it, and some of us will like it. ~Hal Borland
My Personal Moments
- Have you had the chance to watch Seeking Persephone on Peacock? It’s an amazing period drama about a young girl named Persephone, who marries the mean-spirited Duke of Kielder in order to save her family from ruin. It’s has Beauty and The Beast vibes and is only four episodes. Definitely worth the watch!
- Our youngest son is selling his first home. It’s the place I’ve had my garden for the last three years. It’s bittersweet. He saved and saved which allowed him to purchase his first house at 23 years old. Quite the accomplishment! I’ll miss my gardening days there but I’m beyond happy about his next steps! There are so many emotions that come with being the parent of grown children. Happy, exciting, proud kind of emotions. The kind that hit you right in the heart. However, I think I’ll hang on to his house key for just a little while, letting it remind me of all the amazing things the garden and his little house has meant.
- I just ordered When the Day Comes by Gabrielle Meyer. It follows Libby who has been given an extraordinary gift. She lives two lives, one in 1774 Colonial Williamsburg and the other in 1914 Gilded Age New York City. When she falls asleep in one world, she wakes up in the other. Same person, same heart but two completely different lives. This is book 1 of 7.
