Hello everyone and happy Tuesday!
This month I am participating in a DIY Blogger Challenge!
The challenge – “Show Us Your Heart.”

Have you ever done a project that is near and dear to your heart?
I love making those kind of projects. I make blankets for a cause which is so near and dear to my heart. You can read all about my blanket making and The Journey here.
Today, I am going to show you how I made another heartfelt craft with my granddaughter’s precious little hand.
It was so simple, fun and I made a special memory doing it.
I wanted to create something special for my son and daughter-in-law for Valentine’s Day.
What could I do?
While holding my granddaughter’s little hand, I thought why not trace her hand and give it to them for Valentine’s Day?
So that’s what I did!!
For this project you will need:
Crafter square foam sheet – your color choice
Scrap booking paper
Picture frame
Glue stick
Scissors
Pen
1) I started by tracing my granddaughter’s hand. She was definitely curious as to what I was doing, but I was able to finally get it flat and trace. I traced her hand on line paper, cut it out, and laid the template on the crafter square.
I used red but you can use any color. This craft could also be used for a birthday gift or another holiday.

2) Next, I needed to cut the scrap booking sheet to the size of the frame. I took out that “phantom family” picture that’s always in the frames you buy, and cut my paper to the size using my Fiskars scrap booking trimmer. It makes a really straight edge.

3) Once that was cut, I took my glue stick and glued her cut out hand to the center of the paper. I wrote her name and the date on the paper with a pen.

That’s an important step….you have to have the date! How many of your kids projects have you pulled out, years later, and realize there is no date on them? Therefore, you are left guesstimating the year.
Come on, friends….I know I am not alone it that!
4) Last step was to clean the glass on the frame and put the completed craft in the frame.
So simple and so heartfelt. My son and daughter-in-law loved it!
But you know what….so did I. Making that little craft will always be special to my heart. Her little hand and her sweet smile after she saw what we did….that’s the best.
I hope you have a heartfelt craft that created a wonderful memory for you. If not, I hope you know there is always still time to create one.
Peace and Blessings,
Kim
