Happy Sundays, friends! I’ve missed a few Sunday’s here but it has been a very eventful couple of weeks, here at the cottage. My Personal Moments
- First off, I would like to say thank you to everyone who has been praying for our son Mitchell. He had a ‘wonderful’ MRI report and we are so very grateful! God is so good! If you’re new here, you can read all about The Journey HERE.
- In more exciting news, our youngest son got engaged! We are gaining a beautiful DIL inside and out and we couldn’t be happier! It was the best Mother’s Day gift a girl could get! We also celebrated my son’s 27th birthday. A weekend full of goodness and sweet memories!

- I’ve finally got all my flowers planted and potted. I think we are out of the clear for frost…fingers crossed! How about you? Are you planted or still in the waiting period?

- Raise your hand if you’re a Martha Stewart fan. I have enjoyed everything Martha for years and I’m so excited to share her new book with you. The Martha Way: by Martha Stewart. She shares her timeless style and foundational principles to living an inspired, well-kept life. Who doesn’t love some good tips from Martha herself?

- I’ve been finishing my packing list for Italy. Below are some of my favorite finds from Quince! If you haven’t tried Quince, yet, I highly recommend them. The quality of clothing is so good and very affordable, too. Quince has quickly become my favorite place to shop for quality basics without the high price tag!

Kim’s Cost Saving Tip
Now that it’s planting season, before you buy new pots or planters this spring, take a walk through your house first! A vintage colander, an old crock, or even a wire basket lined with moss can make the most charming planters. The best part, it costs you nothing!
Recently on the Blog
I’ve been a little quiet on the blog as of late. As you can see we’ve been busy with family events and I also had a short hospital stay for my diverticulitis. If you have it too, I feel for you. It’s not fun! I’m on the mend and getting back to normal. I’ve linked my most recent posts below in case you missed them.

Local in the Mitten
This week, I’m featuring Gaudino’s restaurant. It has roots that go back to the early 1940s, when founder Peter Gaudino opened a small Italian corner market in Detroit. In 1971, the family relocated to their current spot on Harper Avenue in St. Clair Shores, becoming one of the premier Italian specialty markets on the east side. In 2015, the building was purchased and restored, relaunching Gaudino’s as a modern Italian market and eatery. Today, it’s a dine-in restaurant and doubles as a small Italian market. It’s a one-of-a-kind spot and the food is absolutely delish! Definitely add Gaudino’s to your list of restaurants to try!

A Few of My Favorite Moments
Looking for a yummy dessert to serve that looks pretty and is delicious too? Wendy from WM Design House shared her Easy Gluten-Free Tangerine Cake with Almond Flour.

Have you ever used sachet bags? I used to love using them in my dresser drawers. Jennifer from Cottage on Bunker Hill shared How to Make Homemade Sachets. With her easy-to-follow tutorial, I think I’ll be using them again!

My whole family loves homemade enchiladas. Even the littles! That’s why when I saw this recipe from Chrissy at My Tex Mex, I just had to share it! Her Green Chicken Enchiladas look and sound so delicious. I’ll be making these for our next family gathering!

Your garden is looking fabulous as always Kim and I’m so happy for Zac and Stephanie. I’m getting my planting done in phases, but at least I’m earlier this year than last. Italy is just around the corner … so excited for you. And that clothing company., Quince very interesting. I may have to check them out. 😍
Thanks, Traci! Quince is amazing! Everything I’ve bought, I absolutely love. High quality, budget-friendly!
I’ll be back to read these “moments” again! So many ideas I need to try and/or check out. Thanks (as always) for your inspiration, Kim!
