My Personal Mitten Moments
This past weekend, I traveled to Kansas City to meet with some blogging friends who came from all parts of the country. We stayed at the sweetest bed and breakfast (cute outdoor cats included) sharing our knowledge and learning from each other.
Oh, and there was lots of laughter too!
Believe it or not, blogging is hard work! There are so many moving pieces to it and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to connect with women who have the same passion for blogging!

Another exciting thing about the weekend was the parade of beautiful colors. Unfortunately, it will be a few weeks before we see all the beauty of flowering trees and annuals, here in the Mitten, so it was wonderful surprise to catch a glimpse of some already in bloom!

Since we last chatted, we had a fun time with our family celebrating my middle son’s 28th birthday! He has always been wise beyond his years, faithful, gentle in spirit and fearless. I made a delicious carrot cake, at his request, and why I didn’t write a blog to share with you…well, I just don’t know! But, if I had, I would have put it on a pretty cake stand and worked harder at frosting it!
Anyway, it was a great day!
One more thing, the candle placement was compliments of my 3 year old granddaughter!

“Why is a birthday cake the only food you can blow on and spit on and everybody rushes to get a piece?” – Bobby Kelton

A Few Of My Favorite Moments
Last year, we made some changes to our yard. I now have some new gardens and they are in need of some fresh plants. I’ve been on the hunt since last fall and adding some peonies is on the top of my list.
My friend Stacy from Bricks ‘n Blooms shares all the tips and tricks in her post Secrets to Growing Peonies Like a Pro Revealed.
She goes over everything you need to know when it comes to peonies and it was perfect timing for me!

I’ve been looking for some new desserts to serve for Easter. I am a big fan of anything lemon and I came across the most yummy lemon desserts.
Janine from Happy Happy Nester has the yummiest Lemon Treats! She even shares a gluten free cake as an option!

Since we are on the topic of Easter dinner, do you have your menu planned? If not, I have another great option for you!
